NHTSA and EPA regulations are killing the ability for companies to provide reliable, durable 4x4's with equal or higher power than previous models... Even my 2017 tacoma was absurd, the first Toyota 4x4 I've ever owned where my stud welder for dent pulling would just melt through even on LOW with small pins! 🤦‍♂️ Every year mileage requirements go up, mandatory safety equipment and testing goes up... Really we've been past the point of no return of having no "real" 4x4's since roughly 2010... If only we had exemptions for REAL Toyota 4x4s like Australia and South Africa... Atleast Ford tried with the Raptor, and Dodge with the power wagon until the EPA necessitated the gas powered ecoboost and terrible transmission... Ford didn't have the best history of reliability before being hampered by having to pair up that combo to maintain the same power levels at a higher EPA spec'd MPG rating... And Dodge died as soon as FIAT took over... RIP Bronco owner's wallets is all I can say 😐 Thanks EPA 👍 now go give some more tax credits to Amazon and Walmart who import everything on cargo ships burning millions of gallons of unrestricted crude oil and low grade diesel so we can have landfills full of un-repairable, single use import products... Great "Green" initiative EPA 👏

He’s listing all kinds of things that I’ve never once had an issue with in my 22 tundra. It’s by far the best truck I’ve ever owned.

I just purchased a 2023 limited and a few things. 1. Free year of maps, or if overlanding get a paper map (duh) 2. You can turn off the parking sensors, there is a physical button. 3. You can turn off Lane keep beep 4. You can buy a buckle for any car on Amazon for the seat belt sensors. 5. Auto headlights are standard on every trim, rain sensing wipers are not. This video is sensationalized for views(i get it), most things are non issues, driver error, or easily adjusted if you read the owners manual to maybe learn how your new truck works. Test drive a truck before you buy, don't like the view from the drivers seat or the led lights inside the cab, or want to go overlanding but get the worst light duty truck for turning radius and payload then it's on you not the truck.

One of the reason those beeps is so infuriating to me is that I know that as soon as you overuse a super annoying beep like that, eventually you learn to ignore them thereby rendering them not only useless, but dangerous. It's a "cry wolf" situation where when you really need the beep you'll have already ignored it.

I also hated the beeping in lane assist. You can change that so it just vibrates the steering wheel. I was very happy to find that it could be changed. Mine has never experienced the random beeping like you are experiencing.

Thank you Max for letting us and more importantly Toyota know this is totally unacceptable.

I think everything just sucks nowadays. I ordered the 2023 gmc canyon, waited 3 months for it. Drove it home, 23 miles on it. Power steering locked up, every error light possible came on, towed back to dealer. They couldn’t fix it, wouldn’t give me an extended warranty. Long story, they gave it back to GMC as well. Bought a 2023 tundra, and absolutely love it …..for now.

Man, I would be trading it in. That thing would drive me insane. I wouldn't invest a dime into upgrades.

I have a tundra limited 2022 and absolutely love it from top to bottom, if you have problems with android maybe you need to change to an iPhone, I haven’t had any issues with car play, and all the safety features can be adjusted or modified on the main screen settings, what I love the most are all the parking assistant cameras make it so easy to park, the parking sensor can also be turned off when you are towing a trailer or something so it doesn’t affect the automatic brake system, good luck every one ✌🏽

You should probably trade it in for a 2015-2021 Tundra TRD Pro. Robust motor & non of the electronic crap. It would take more work to run 35s but it would be more durable for sure

Thanks for helping me confirm I’m making the right decision by keeping my 2020 Tundra.

This further confirms my want for a 18-21 Tundra

Hey max, I hope you see this comment. So I have quite a bit of experience with these 22 tundras my friend jus got 2, a limited TRD Off-Road and he traded in his 2019 1794 for a 2022 TRD Pro, I have been test driving the limited for almost a month now. And to address some of your concerns, the truck does beep at you a lot but for most of these things you can simply just turn them off, like all the safer gadgets that freak out when you’re off-road, for example, lane centering assist etc, they all can be turned and they won’t bother you. Secondly the TRD Off-Road while it has the name off-road in it, it’s more of an appearance package as I have discovered, it doesn’t really make the truck any more off-road capable than a bone stock, I mean it adds the more off-road tires and crawl control but that’s about it, to really get the best out of a TRD-off-road it has to be lifted with better tires as my friend and I found out while taking it off-road bone stock, it scraped and banged on a lot of things, but once the lift kit went on it, it changed into a different truck, also the front bumper on these 22’s are pretty low to the ground for efficiency sake so if you don’t wanna scrape it, it’s most likely would have to be modified. For the android auto disconnecting, I have figured out that it mostly happenes when you wirelessly connect to it, so most of the time using the cable solves that issue, I’ve also had the same problem in a lot of BMW’s where android auto or apple car play just disconnected on me while I was using it, and switching to the wired connection helps, and the problem can be fixed with an OTA update. Regarding the check engine light, same thing happened to my friends Limited Off-Road, it came on while we were driving, tried to restart the truck that didn’t change anything, we took it into the dealership and they ran a scan on it, nothing came up, it happened to just be a glitch for us. So i would say you should try to run a diagnostic check to see what the problem may possibly be. I feel this is the case that happens with any first year vehicle, same thing happens when the previous Gen tundra came out, it had its own fair share of issues but they were all worked out in a year or 2, same thing goes for any brand really, Ford has had a bunch recalls on the new F-150, it’s what happens when you get an all new vehicle, essentially the customers are the beta testers which sucks cos customers who get the bad example have a soured experience of the brand. In the case of the tundra, I have noticed that the trucks who were made the earliest seem to have the most amount problems, while the latter made trucks, have less problems. I have seen people who have had nothing to say but good things about the tundra on YouTube and I’ve seen people who have had problems. I’m really sorry your truck hasn’t been making you happy, hopefully things would turn around. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with the tundra I test drove for quite some time and I’m looking into getting one for myself l, preferably a TRD Pro, Capstone or 1794. I think the new tundra is still a great truck, it’s pretty darn fast for what it is, the interior is miles and miles better than the previous Gen, it rows more, which is very important to me and it’s a lot more comfortable than the last generation. I’ve had a lot of seat time in the last Gen and I can confirm that. I also think it looks better but that’s a controversial opinion 😂. People like to hate on the new thing especially on the internet which made me start to doubt the new trucks but once I test drove one, I fell in love.

Every time I watch these videos I'm convinced that my 2017 Tundra is a much better truck in every aspect but fuel economy.

My brother...you're not being negative, you're being HONEST. Sell the POS now. All the lifts and tires, bed rack etc. isn't going to make any of the things you dislike go away. Those sensors, the brake etc. just garbage. My 20 year old Suburban Z71 4x4 has auto lights, wipers, drivers window. Lol! Quit while you're behind on this thing...

FYI - you can change the lane departure to vibrate. It's buried in the dash menu. Or if you hold the button for 10 seconds it turns it off. Turning it off persists when you shut it off.

I ordered a 2023 to Toyota Tundra dark blue pick it up on NOV 18/22 ..Its a BEAUTIFUL truck very comfortable seat and nice interior.. I've been doing mechanical work for 40 years and had trucks sense 1978 . I also exchanged tires for BF GOODRICH KO2. The truck rides like a Lincoln and handle nice. The first thing i do is listen for noise from the Drive Line to Panels then drove to a gravel road and engage my 4x4 about 5 times. I engage my 4x4 at a FULL STOP most of the time or at 3 to 5 mph and everything work GREAT. .I put 600 miles on the truck so far...3 days ago we had some snow so i decided to engage 4x4 and it made a loud clunk it did this 2 times .. YESTERDAY I went to the dealer to have it check they told me that the TRANSFER CASE needed to be replaced... I THOUGHT HE WAS KIDDING he had to tell me 3 times before it SANK in ..I can feel my stomach turn over and said that i NEVER in 40 years had TRANSFER CASE ISSUES and I didn't even make my first payment yet ...They told me it may take 4 or more weeks to replace it ...I TOLD THEM THAT'S IT FOR HUNTING NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. We are getting snow now and you need a 4x4 working ....CEO ; AKIO TOYODA..Must resolve the issues with these NEW TUNDRA Truck or you will DESTROY TOYOTA reputation ..

At 2:30 you had enough room to your left to avoid going over that stump where you got stuck. I get I though going over that stump would’ve been a good photo op for your Instagram

Question, not too be rude, but did you not wait and test drive one before you bought it? Especially when your tall, it’s a must before any car purchase.
