This made me think of airplanes, they have two of some of the critical instruments just incase of failure. With the amount of increasing automated features in cars, trust will eventually be formed and it is possible that we will never think that the electronic equipment can actually fail.

Maybe we should think about other means for transportation :)

Thanks for demonstrating this feature. It’s kinda confusing. I tried using driver assistance on the 10 freeway through downtown Los Angeles and it worked pretty well. The only thing I couldn’t figure out was how to close the gap between my car and the car in front of me. Cars kept cutting in front of me and I couldn’t close the gap. But what a wonderful feature. Especially in SoCal with a;l the terrible traffic. By the way, I’m in a 2022 X5 M50i and I absolutely love it

I have an M8 comp on order and love how CarPlay takes up the whole screen. I have and GLE 53 coupe on order for the wife as well and can’t stand how small CarPlay is on those large screens.

I thought the system was able to detect if you have another vehicle next to you when you trigger a lane change by using the turn signal. Where it would wait changing lanes until it's safe to do so. However if I understood what you said correctly, it's not safe to ask the car to change lanes in such a situation?

2. Does it not change automatically like Tesla, model 3 FSD which is only 30k-40k ?
3. How frequent does it ask you to touch the wheel?

My car is 2021 X5 and I have Driver Assist Pro Pkg but how come I don’t have “Plus” mode? Or that plus mode only available on certain highways?

BMW driver assistance systems, is the only brand in the world that you have to ask for extra package $$$$ to have it, -- even a basic Nissan Sentra comes standard with DAS without having to pay extra.
