So, fun fact about the sandygast that were melting in the rain, and any other pokemon that have environmental effects that happen to them (such as exploding voltorb or Hoppip flying away in the wind), shinies won't do that. They're immune, just the same way that they're immune from being murdered ala Let's Go Mode. So, Mikey could've just stayed put when it started raining, and gotten his shiny to spawn without even moving.

My two favourite parts of this episode were the yelling from a few episodes back making a return in the sponsor segment and Mikey's anguish when his girlfriend didn't bring the boba tea 😆
