1:46 they probably used the glitch where you could set the character limit to whatever you wanted so they probably set that to "0" and then just pressed "continue" and it let them have no name.

Another annoying aspect is that YouTube automatically assumed handle names for accounts that are inactive/dead. I have a trademarked name and they gave it to an account that appears dead! (No activity on their YouTube or other social media accounts for over a decade.) Now I have an @handle+some other stuff. YouTube does not appear to have plans to release handles on dead accounts so that handle is taken forever.

They also make it kind of weird with adding a new link, so it would make someone want to find another link to the channel if it's older and they want to look at it in the Way Back Machine.

I'm my opinion handles are good because otherwise you'd have thousands of channels called mrbeast, not each is unique and that's good. Channels can have a unique thing about them now. "This ruined YouTube mysteries" is a selfish thing to say since that effects you but not most.

The no-name channel could be given the handle @Angel (since no channel uses it currently). That would be a bit cooler at least since it’s a rare username

Handles is an important feature. Basically say you wanna search for a certain channel and can't find them by their name. Well now you can type in the handle and it's all fine and dandy.

And this is the bad side of YouTube handles; I feel like YouTube handles shouldn’t exist in the first place. Kinda ripping off Twitter.

NO matter how bad the handles are, I think they're pretty useful to make Telegram scam bots easier to be captured if they were still available

Youtube handles does give good advantages, but the problem is it's making channels harder to find because the url is no longer a series of characters.

If only they'll let us hide youtube handles so we can only have the username
