The "turn around and see the monster" trick isn't anything new. ALTHOUGH the fact that it didn't have a sound bite to go with it genuinely made my skin crawl when we just lock eyes with Lamu

What I am getting from this is that Lamu used to be a human child. His father, Dr. Bronze was a genetic scientist who wanted to combine human and animal genes for the sake of “curing” an illness. My theory is that perhaps Lamu, when he was still a human child, had some sort of terminal disease, possibly a severe metabolic disorder. His father went mad and conducted the gene-splicing experiment on his own son. Of course the experiment went terribly wrong, and the boy grew to resent his father and see him as a monster. He lost control due to having been been experimented on and ended up killing his own family.

Key thing to note is the third ending’s paper, specifically it’s publish date. In the previous two endings, I believe they were published in 2002, but this one regarding the Bronze family was published in 1977 on October 23rd*, which speaks of itself. What mindboggles me is that this happened **25** years ago, so this child has been in this mutated form for 25 painful years. That’s honestly heartbreaking to think about..

Manly: There’s fruits everywhere. *Suddenly remembers what the fruit represent.* Oh no there’s fruits everywhere.

Sad to think of how twisted this poor kid's mind might have been to convince himself that he did nothing wrong, even though he knows what he did to his family.

The moment Manly remembered fruits are humans in Lamu's mind...

It hit me that they redefined the good ending to be the best ending because we put a poor little boy who was turned into a monster by his sick bastard of a father out of his misery by running him over while getting the fuck out of there.

Hearing that the dev behind Lamu is likely to update or make another game about Lamu is great! I just hope they don't go overboard with Lamu, as the cutesy horror game market is somewhat over saturated.

I definitely didn't expect an update to this game, let alone that the dev has plans to do more with the story, but I did like what's been added. It'll certainly be hard to predict what comes next.

From what I'm gathering-- Larry is Lamu, that much is obvious. He was likely turned into a human/llama hybrid as a result of his father's (Dr. Bronze's) experiments. A potential reason for being part llama specifically, I think, has something to do with the book.

A children's book about a llama that happens to be Larry's favorite. That implies that Larry is a child, which can be further supported by the Narrator making that comment about Lamu no longer being able to read. Larry was likely young enough to have just learned to read before he got tested on by his father. Additionally: the way the Narrator speaks to Lamu is the way an adult would speak to a child. The notes in the book aren't as well-worded as you'd expect from someone more grown up. The drawings look like something a child would draw for their parent to put on the fridge (though I'm older and still have questionable art skills).

As for the notes written on the pages, I suspect Larry's transformation was gradual. Maybe Larry changed over time and thus was able to write in his favorite book before losing the ability to read. How else would he have written stuff down if he'd immediately transformed? A llama can't write very well, I'd imagine- even if Lamu does write with a pencil in his mouth. The hand(mouth?)writing would be messier.

I'm not quite sure if manly ACTUALLY has blueberries and cherries in his yard (he may have been joking) but if he does then that's pretty sick

So the dad probably wanted to prove that he wasn't a fraud and that his theories had practical application, so he experimented on his son. Clearly, some stuff went wrong and the boy turned into a ravenous monster that hungered for raw flesh, possibly brain, but found it distasteful. Some trauma and a few decades later and a sweet little llama lives a happy life in the woods, playing with his fruity friends.

If you look closely, you can see that lamu's face is literally a human boys face stretched over a llama's head

I love to think the dev know the similarity to "Llama With Hat" Series. So that they add bell around his neck like the mask in the last episode.

My best assumption about the first segment of the game is that it plays out in Lamu’s mind.
According to what everyone’s saying, Lamu was a child turned Llama by his sicko of a dad, but Lamu is still a kid, so in his mind, it was all simple innocence, fun and games.
In the end, Lamu didn’t really mean to cause the countless murders and beheadings, but it’s still his fault, alongside his dad.
