It's pretty fun to accurately bomb a base from over 10km away with unguided weapons.

❗READ THIS IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THE SELECTED QUANTITY TO RELEASE

There are two ways to release weapons in war thunder- the "conventional" mode, and selected weapon mode.
If you are using selected weapon mode (which you really should be if you're playing jets), you will see a > to the left of the selected weapon (> BMB). In selected weapon mode, you can use "secondary weapon ripple quantity" to switch between [2], [4], [8], [16], and [S] like I showed in the video. Within selected weapon mode there are actually multiple keybinds that can drop bombs, since the old keybinds still work in addition to the weapon selection release keybinds.
• "Drop bomb" (default bombing key, probably spacebar) will ignore the selected quantity and will only drop at most one or two bombs at a time regardless of what quantity you set.
• "Drop bomb series" will likewise also ignore the selected quantity, but will ripple off all the bombs. It doesn't work well at all with selected weapon mode for some reason, so avoid this one.
• "Fire secondary weapons" is what you need to use. This is the keybind that will release the selected quantity. So, for example, if you see >BMB 8 [4] and use "fire secondary weapons", it will release 4 of your 8 bombs.

If you aren't using selected weapon mode for whatever reason (if you see BMB instead of > BMB), you have to select the release quantity that you want on the spawn menu before you spawn on the runway (the option is called "bomb series" and it's next to the fuse setting). Once you have set this and spawned in you can't change it without respawning. In this mode, "drop bomb" will drop 1 or 2 bombs and "drop bomb series" will release your selected quantity.

I should have covered this in greater detail in the video but left it out- sorry about that. But tl;dr is if you use selected weapon mode you need to use "fire secondary weapon", not "drop bomb" or "drop bomb series".

Here's a huge tip from someone who plays too many bombers.... Set up custom loadouts where you have 2 bomb sizes if you can carry more than a base's worth, such as 6x1000lb with 3x2000lb. With this sort of loadout, you can set a "Drop Bomb Series" key to drop all of the bombs of a given size with a delay between the 2 types of bombs. This is especially useful for NATO bombs because of the way that the bomb sizes line up.

Tip if you are using phantom F-4C (or any with same bombs). You can destroy 3 bases in one run if you will take maximum number of bombs and nothing else. You need to make custom loadout with 1000lb 6x and 500lb 18x. Then drop 10x 500 for first, 4x 1000 + 2x 500 for second, and 2x 1000 + 6x 500 for third.

Only Jaek_ could make bombing look unironically enjoyable...

Sadly toss bombing on top tiers (11+) is usually asking for a Sparrow to the face. But in Thud, with 2x3000lb works like a charm and it happens to be the lightest/least impactful single-base bomb load on the airframe
On the upside, CCRP can be used for treetop level bombing just fine, without guessing where base is exactly.

Absolutely stellar guide, honestly keep it up dude I hope for your continued success here! I've been wanting for someone to make guides like this for the game as most videos don't really go into some of the mechanics as well as you do.

If only I could use the 'Switch Mission Bomb Target' in ground RB to select a Capture Point so I can lob 20 250lb bombs in my A4E from like 4km away and just flatten the entire Cap and anyone on it.

Excellent content. I will say that on the swedish Jaktviggens you are able to ripple up to 16 bombs at once (a full load) rather than just salvo.

in swedish tree CCRP is available in a prop, A21-3, and it's wonderful. you won't be able to toss bomb really cause that plane doesn't go high speeds, but you are able to throw bombs accurately from high in the sky in a fighter, and you can toss bomb, just from a closer distance, though on 4.7 BR it's not really a close distance. Though it's for some reason not available on the jet version of A21, only the prop version, I don't get what the swedish engineers were cooking with that

Toss bombing is my way to go with stuff like a A-4
But it can backfire, since your bomb flight time is long, there will always be a mate to bomb before you

Beautiful! Thank you!
I usually thought that CCRP was pretty much useless because of the mediocre accuracy, but I can see now how to effectively bomb airfields in sim mode with my A4E

This is probably the best RB CCRP guide I've seen. However, as you can imagine, it can be a game changer in SB. The problem is that currently it doesn't work very well on older HUDs, like the "century series" jets. Lock persistence is finnicky and heading is not indicated at all in the HUD, which could be a bug. I heard some CCs were discussing it at the end of September, but as of October 2023, there have been no improvements. Would love to see an SB CCRP guide some time!
