Why Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid?

preview_player
Показать описание
Linoleic acid and linolenic acid are unsaturated fatty acids that are not biosynthesised in the mammalian cells and therefore should be supplied in the diet. So they are two essential fatty acids. As these two fatty acids have double beyond the 9th carbon in the chain, they can't be biosynthesized from oleic acid.

I wanted to see what linoleic acid is good for in your body, didn't expect an advanced chemistry class haha

You wrote the structure with trans double bonds. The double bonds should be cis.

Wow, I could only understand half of what he was saying! How about using an "English speaking" spokesperson WITHOUT the "East Indian" accent!!
