GREAT to see you here, Ben. After watching several interviews with you, I look forward to much more. Your science-based info is ALWAYS helpful. I'm a Type 2 diabetic - thanks for helping!

Fascinating. Clearly Linoleic acid is bad for our systems in other ways

What about linoleic acid from more "natural" type sources like eggs, avocados and avocado oil, olive oil, etc.? Thank you.

Dr. Bikmam, there is a HUGE backlash from other health influencers like Dr. Mike Israetel, who say seed oils arent bad for you. I wish this could be settled once and for all by real scientific research

Can you link to that study in the comments. I can’t find it

And wouldn't seed oils aid in growing lipedema? That's a cell problem, but still, they can expand so big, I kind of wonder after hearing this

Does it really take about 8 years to get rid of linolaic acid in the body?

Im confused...you said linoleic acid causes insulin resistance. "Not unlike other fats"...does that mean thst saturated fats promote insulin resistance as well? Im trying to figure out if keto or plant based is going to be better for me to reverse my pre diabetes and there is so much conflicting information from seemingly well meaning and informed people.

Good morning sir. I asked Bing if linoleic acid was essential. Here's the answer.
Yes, linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid that is required for human nutrition because it cannot be synthesized by the human body ¹. It is known as the parent fatty acid of the omega-6 series and is found mostly in plant oils.

I consider myself a student of yours. I've listened to many hours of your discussions with various hosts and you're opening my eyes to a new understanding of health. Thank you.

Oh yeah, one study from 20 years ago is wayyy better than all the studies from Mercola and dozens of others reference..."most medical research cannot be trusted"- Dr Marcia Angel, 18 year editor or the NEJM

My sister just sent a dieticians view on linoleic acid saying it is non Flamatory what is one to believe ? The study she points out or the one that you do???

None of this means anything to me if it doesn't compare refined seed oils to organic, cold-pressed raw seed oils.

Dr Bickman: just curious: Have you had thyroid surgery?

Processed or unprocessed linoleic acid? They are two different things!

Is that egg and bacon hanging behind Dr Bickman?

So the study proved linoleic acid did cause insulin resistance but that means that it then is not true ? I dont think you know.

I believe you may have proved your own point opposite.

Here’s what I might be seeing… If the cells become insulin resistant, your body body will have more free insulin, ultimately promoting an increased rate of fat storage.

Have to imagine, when the linoleic acid enters the body, not all cells will be affected. You’d need a large enough dose to saturate every cell, thus reducing the cell intake of glucose.

If you don’t have a high enough dose, only some cells resist insulin, while the rest are dealing with higher insulin exposure.

If we’re eating small amounts of linoleic acid every day, this process will affect different cells every time, always leading to a certain percentage of cells being “overdosed in insulin” due to other cells not taking on the “work load”.

Wild idea would be full saturation linoleic acid as a weight loss tool. But small amounts over time being extremely “fattening”.

The cure or the poison is in the dose.
