Today we take the Bonanza from Southern California to Silicon Valley! I work from home as a full-time software engineer, and in today's video, we fly the Bonanza up to visit my in-person office for a team event. Thanks for watching!

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:

I work remotely, so I only do this trip about twice a year or less. Fun fact, it's more efficient for me to fly my airplane than to drive my car for this trip!

I work as a mobile app developer, mostly focusing on iOS development

My airplane is a 1952 C35 Bonanza, so it's 70 years old!

I’m flying to EAA Airventure 2022! Follow my Instagram @bayflight for real-time updates on what I’m doing at Oshkosh.

I just wanna say thank you. I watched your flight across the country, and you inspired me. I'm 61, and checked out some flight schools in the area. That was about 3 1/2 months ago. I have one flight left, then a mock check ride, then the check ride. I just wish I was as proficient as you on the radio. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love how you go through all of your checklists verbally. Who ever taught you did well to ingrain that into you

I've been flying for 30 years and am so surprised at how proficient and professional you are. Clearly you had some great instruction but your obviously incredibly intelligent. Your skill and knowledge level is amazing for the amount of time you have been flying. You make this look easy, yet you are flying in some of the most complex airspace in the country. There are people who are just born to be pilots, and you are clearly one of them. I'm flying into San Carlos tomorrow and I know I am going to be way more stressed about this than you were!

Love how you follow checklists every time. Good job. As a retired Airline Pilot I can’t stress how important it is.

I was a AF pilot and SUPT instructor; you would have been a dream student. A guy I flew with said he could tell a who'd be a good pilot by the way they drive in traffic; I'll bet you drive well too... :) Great job - great vid.

PS - I know you're a software engineer and flying is a hobby. I would give you a 90% chance of a fighter out of SUPT if you ever wanted to climb that mountain. Also, as an engineer - test pilot and astronaut is also viable. Just saying - if you ever see those guys/gals and wonder "if I could do that" - I'm here to tell you the odds are excellent.

I'm a newbie to this channel but I am thoroughly enjoying it. My Dad used to have a flying school back in the early 2000s and we used to go all over the place (Southern France mainly) and see the sights. I learned to fly by 16 and got as far as my first solo but end of school exams & college all took precedence at the time. Oh I do miss that sensation as you rotate and watch the world shrink away (slowly), nipping through the clouds, sitting above the cloud level in sunshine, knowing below you is dull and raining 😂

Watching you fly is a true pleasure. You do it the right way, not the expedient way. Fair skies and safe travels.

Stevie, Thank you for sharing your flying with me and taking me along for the ride! Ever since I was 3 1/2 years old I wanted to become an airline pilot. Unfortunately where I lived precluded me realizing that dream. And shortly after passing my 40th anniversary I finally made my peace and buried that dream. Today, a good decade later, I would not be able to pass a medical. But even so, my eyes always brim with water when I watch your take-offs.
And as others have stated repeatedly, I also appreciate how you include at least a brief glimpse of the pre-flight walk-around *AND* your full pre-flight check-list in your videos. You are setting a very good example for others to follow.

This is exactly the road I’m heading towards! I thought about being a commercial pilot but I didn’t want to waste the knowledge I had working in tech. This is so inspiring to remind me the option of being both😂 Thank you so much for sharing!
