Thank you to Garmin, Neal Aviation, and ArtCraft for sponsoring this video!

Today, we're starting a five-day trip from California to Wisconsin to bring my 1949 Cessna 140A to EAA AirVenture! On day one, we'll fly from Camarillo, CA to Mesa, AZ with fuel stops at Palm Springs, CA and Buckeye, AZ. With busy Socal and Phoenix airspace, temperatures upwards of 100℉, and a light, squirrelly tailwheel airplane, this was not an easy flight!

Thanks for watching!

You do a great job on the frequency requesting advisories from ATC. You have them all your info without any excessive info. This makes it easy for ATC not having to play 20 questions! Nice job! (30 years ATC retired)

It’s crazy to see other ways people live this beautiful life in this day and age. Blessed.

So happy that 77A ended up getting another chance - love the restoration job Stevie. From previous owners (Vancouver, Canada).

Stevie - you're the Perfect Pilot! Congrats. to you for your abilities to articulate. I too used to fly out of Bracket and Cable; made many trips throughout So. Cal. Yes - it do get hot, making it very difficult to maintain altitude and stability, especially over the desert areas. I enjoy following your flights as it brings back my own memories. 😊👏🏻.

I moved to Camarillo in 1963, 10 years old ! I remember when it was Oxnard Air Force Base with fighter jets !! I towed my 1954 Chevy down the runway trying to start it during 'Auto Shop' at R.O.P. at the, by then, the civilian airport. Great Plane !! I learned in a 150 in '73. Great video ! At 6:10 I can see the house we lived in !! How cool ! Thanks for a Great visual !

I made that flight a bunch back n the 90’s and early 2, 000’s. I loved looking at all the patterns on n the desert. It is so different when seen from the air in a sweet little Cessna. I had a 150 and a 170. It all came to an end when Heart issues took away my Medical. I love watching videos like yours. Brings back a lot of great memories. Thanks for sharing.

350'/min not bad climb rate for a 140, especially on a hot day out of Palm Spr. Thanks for taking me along with you. That is a beautiful plane, sporting that outstanding rework.

I made a similar flight from Watsonville CA (WVI) to OSH in 1987 in a Grumman AA1A Trainer. It was a great adventure that I'm happy to relive through Stevie's flight.

I know nothing about flying and have no idea why this vid popped up in my feed I went thru a whole gambit of emotions watching this ...from sheesh what an adorable young lady to the camera view of her in plane and feeling like a dad watching his daughter driving off to college for first time to her donning sun glasses, headset and turning full boss that is clearly an extremely smart and accomplished pilot. subbed...
