Being the older brother of a special needs kiddo myself, I don’t think that the siblings(NOT THE PARENTS)get enough love, I’ve always felt alone in my struggles as my sisters siblings, despite very much so not being, because no one cares about us, unless we do something miraculous to better the lives of our siblings, but most of us are just trying to survive everyday life with them and our often times neglectful parents. I cannot tell you how many times in the last 10 years that I have been asked how I am doing or been given a genuine hug, because all of the focus is on my sister.

DONT get me wrong I love that little turd, but I feel so drained and empty and alone on a daily basis and no one even cares. I’m constantly pushed to the sidelines and told to deal with it because it’s not like they can help it anyway.

All I want is a hug.

I too have a brother with autism and Camila was wonderful in how she expressed her experience and feelings, which I can relate to. Thank you.

I love watching videos like this and seeing the perspectives of other siblings like me. It often feels really lonely to be in this position, being the supporter of both our sibling and ALSO our parents, so it's comforting to know there are others going through the same struggles as you. Really wish there was an easier way for siblings of people with autism to connect with each other :)

Great video. Such a mature approach on the part of the elder sister.

I have a cousin with autism, very hard to live with when he comes to my house, especially when he is feeling a little better. I can’t understand the pain his parents and friends go through
