This video is an homage to Kenneth Graham's "Wind In The Willows," and the beautiful song by Ralph McTell. You can buy the song on iTunes and other available platforms.

See below for lyrics or sing along using the Closed Caption Subtitles:

The wind in the willows sang softly to me,
Follow my voice wherever it leads,
From mountains, through valleys, to deep rolling seas,
Born on the wings of the breeze.

Spin me a dream woven silver and gold,
From sunshine and shadows and days long ago,
Where people are memories and stories unfold,
Willows the tales you have told me.

Wind in the willows you'll just seem to know,
Who you can turn to and which way to go,
To unwind your wonderous mind,
Wind in the willows take me there.

Wind in the willows you'll just seem to know,
Who you can turn to and which way to go,
Where people are memories and stories unfold,
Wind in the willows take me there.
Wind in the willows take me there.

This song made me so emotional as a child. It still does. I thought I was the only one that would feel sad and cry when I heard this. I was always made to feel that I was too emotional with stuff like that. ❤

Never, ever, ever again will there be purity, wholesomeness, gentleness and charm in programming like this.

Is it right that I'm in tears listening to this?

This song makes me cry. This was only thing we were allowed to watch on VHS when my homework was done at my Romanian refugee grandmothers house who is Schwabisch German dissent would allow me to watch. When everything was proper and ordered was so innocent. Like a completely different lifetime and another world. Long long ago

I honestly searched for this just to experience that emotion I felt as a child.

A criminally underated and well made series.

This so nostalgic it made me cry at the age of 43. I remember being infront of box tv eating bread with butter and jam spread on it. Dipping the bread in hot black tea with cream and sugar along with my siblings during fall and winter evenings. I miss them days

Thank you for this. I haven’t heard this tune for over 30 years and it’s brought me to tears. Such happy memories watching this beloved show when I was a child.

😭😭😭Memories. Moley was just the epitome of innocence and kindness; I loved him the most and still do, even if I grew up to be more of a Badger. Beautiful series; they don't make 'em like this anymore.

A mole, a rat, a badger, and a toad... Only the English could make such creatures so appealing and loveable in a children's program. Ralph McTell's wistful theme is the icing on the cake. This is the stuff that makes us strong in heart and soul as we grow older, Amen.

What a wonderful warm, voice Ralph McTell has.

Now it is days long ago, since this beautiful show aired. Which is rather sad if I'm honest.

Youtube recommended the first episode of this series the other day and it brought me back to when I last saw it. I had half as many siblings. I was in single digits back then. Now I'm almost half-way to triple digits, have twice as many siblings, and also over a dozen nieces and nephews. Thanks to all who preserve and share this kind of thing.
