Well my Dremel cordless tool finally gave up the ghost so I got this cheapo "Avid Power" 8V rotary tool on Amazon. Let's see how it holds up over time.

Hey any updates on the avid tool, has it Held up and performed just as well as the Dremel? Recommend or nah? Thank you

Buy yourself the drill type chuck for the dremel then you can fit any size bit without changing collets all the time .
I would rebuild the dremel with new bearings and batteries though always good to have a spare or one for the tool box and one for the workbench 👍

What would you recommend for the avid rotary tool to cut through plastic? I build scale model cars.

I have one just like the red one I got at Wally. I use it to sand down my toenails, with the sanding drum, so I don't have to cut them and they then don't split and hurt.

Avid is a good company, have other things of theirs, and stop calling it an Amazon brand, it is not. it is something that is being sold on Amazon just like a Dremel tool
