Thank you for this video ..I feel so much better about what happened to my daughter…..she died just two months ago from alcoholism and pot then to drugs …….I knew about the alcoholism and the pot but not that she moved on to doing drugs ….she died a young age with a young child. Who will never know why his Mother wouldn’t put him first …..Nobody wins here …we all lost

There needs to be more rehab facilities and good ones. A lot of rehabs are just garbage. America spends so much money helping other countries. While addiction and homelessness is out of fucken control here.

I'll give you a perfect example as to what addiction looks like considering I'm recovering and have been for 8 years
A friend decides to take a pill of (fill in the blank) and puts the bottle down. 45 minutes later, that friend collapses and I'm like "wow that must be good shit" while someone who isn't an addict calls 911.
If you're not an addict and even if you grew up around it and know the signs, denial, lies, etc you still have zero comprehension as to what it is like and to some degree most addicts don't either at least not until they are sober and recovering

My 20 year old daughter just came home for the Holidays and she is literally half her size. She's hearing voices, and extremely paranoid. Flies off the handle quickly. Lied about where she's been staying. I've only seen her 4 times total this year. August was the last time I seen her...she was her normal size. And wasn't causing family disruption. I'm at a loss and idk what to do. She was supposed to come last weekend but she flaked her excuse she fell after hitting a (DAB?) And hit her head then blacked out, she didn't go to the hospital or call us to take her. The list goes on...

I was looking for a self assessment test a person can do to see if he/she has an addictive brain.

She is not talking about why people turn to drugs and alcohol. i know there are many reasons but mine were insomnia and depression after my mum and two dogs died which just made my symptoms worse. i ended up in hospital with a blood clot on the brain due to a seizure and once i was recovering in hospital my two longtime friends, so called, dumped me by email which contributed to my further decline once i got back home.

The same for mental health facilities. It's CRAP! All they did was give me 3 meals, my meds, and we had a lame group meeting 20 mins per day oh yea and arts and crafts one day a week. Only time we get to go outside is if you smoke but they allowed non smokers to join the 3 times a day 15 min outing if they wanted too, not really fresh air when your standing in a small area full of smoke. Most the people on my floor was addicts and mental cases. They would talk about all their drug use as if bragging and compare stories, no rehabilitation what so ever. And staff allowed the conversations and sometimes laugh at some of the stories. Mostly all I did was sleep and walk around with tennis shoes with no laces( for obvious reasons). How is that helping someone??? Oh and I had great medical insurance so that was not an issue. Some of the staff was nice, some treated you like s***, but mostly over worked, short staffed, and working multiple shifts. The staff always was busy and frustrated. It was hectic for the patients and staff. To be honest I did and said anything to get out of that place, and Happy to say I never been back since. American needs to do better! Just saying.
