Thanks for this video. I have a similar set up without the shut off valves and solar. I much prefer the bottom overflow and you've given me some great ideas to expand my current system. Again, great video!!

I am such a doofus! I was wanting to know the level in my rain barrels as well, but I was going down the route of cutting a hole in my entry barrel and sealing in a clear plastic view port. This will be so much faster, less hassle and probably more accurate. Thanks mate!

Sweet setup, I will definitely be building such a system. Your sight tube comment about algae growing gave me an idea. Put a shut valve with quick connect at the base and the quick connect nipple on the clear tube. When you shut the valve and disconnect the tube the water runs out and the tube can stored indoors.
