What If Anakin Skywalker Became Senator of Tatooine

Anakin Skywalker was a Jedi Padawan during the final years of the Galactic Republic. What If Anakin Became Senator of Tatooine? Being that the Hutt controlled system was not apart of the Republic, how would he become a Senator of it? What would the reactions of Obi Wan, Palpatine, and the Republic itself be? Would his movement be taken with legitimacy or would he, like the rest of the Outer Rim, be forced from view?

That's actually pretty funny and knowing Yoda he'd probably wouldn't mind a harmless prank like having his cane hidden from him. He'd just chuckle and sit the culprit down and explain to them what they did wrong without actually punishing them.

The most interesting part is that the Republic made podracing illegal because of how dangerous it was.

The fact that in this story the Republic actually allowed it to continue on Tatooine means that Anakin, Padme, and a bunch of others managed to completelty revolutionize the sport by both making it safer and getting big corporations to realize that there's good money to be made by sponsoring teams.

Also I feel like there was a missed opportunity for Watto to show up to congratulate Anakin for everything he's accomplished and to be "the best bet he ever lost".
