How to install Golang on FreeBSD 12 in 5 minutes

How to manually install the latest version of Go in FreeBSD 12

The wget method doesn't work for me, I did all of the steps exactly like you did. Yet, I didn't get a go version or a go env.

Thanks :) im feel pretty stupid for that,
notice that the default shell is the freebsd bash thing however it called
MAKE SURE YOU LAUNCH AS bash
by typing bash into your terminal, if I helped someone leave a reply-comment :)
