Ashoka
Ashoka was the third emperor of the Mauryan Empire of the Indian subcontinent during 268 BCE to 232 BCE.
He was born in 304 BCE and was a Buddhist by religion.
He was great because of his never-ending victory and the moral teachings in the inscriptions.
He erected 13 rock pillars and several inscriptions to commemorate the journey of Buddha to Buddhism. Ashoka described himself in this sculpture as Devanampiya.
He was a great politician even though he was a spiritual person. Ashoka extended the Magadha Empire up to Afghanistan.
His last war was fought in Kalinga. He was changing their mindset to peace after seeing the consequences of that war, which had caused a terrible massacre there.
