Too bad the actor passed away. I found Baylan Skoll by far the most interesting and intriguing character in the entire Ahsoka show, even more so than Ahsoka self.

I've learned that in this show every character that ignites their saber first in a duel is always the one who loses. Take snips here for example

This is a remarkable tribute to martial arts. Not everything is about speed and flashiness. They way they calmly size each other up is beautifully done. Dawson’s relaxed confidence embodies the Jedi philosophy perfectly.

I like how when Baylen activates his lightsaber, it made the same sound as a Sith lightsaber.

The Kendo starting positions before they attack at first make me so happy.

I love the different fighting styles across this show.

Bro this show wasn’t perfect but I loved Ray Stevensons character as well as Hayden’s flashbacks. I really hope they start giving projects to people that know what they’re doing. Andor was not only one of the best Star Wars shows, but of any show in general of that year.

I love Baylan. He feels like someone who could’ve been in the original trilogy. There’s this weird emphasis on modern depictions of Vader which try to make him as flashy as prequel era villains, but here we have Baylan who goes the opposite direction and proves that types like him and Vader are actually cooler when they’re simple.

I noticed how Baylon fights. He doesn't fight like other Jedi, or former Jedi. He moves like a medieval knight — something you rarely see in Star Wars. Very minimal movements, very concise attacks.

Baylans fighting style is so incredibly unique, to me it looks like he has mastered the ability to very slowly let out the dark side during a fight, as if he can increase the power withdrawn from it on command, without getting consumed by it. I'll try to explain:

1:09 Baylan looks cautious and nervous, but clear of mind, he is fighting Ahsoka with his past Jedi training and knowledge. His next few strikes and dodges are direct, powerful and according to the book, but can't seem to catch Ahsoka off guard.

1:34 Baylan realizes he needs to do something to get the upper hand and you can see the exact moment when he decides to "fuel himself up", the music gets going, his entire style suddenly changes as if he is fighting with natural instinct. You can see how his fighting style is still very Jedi-like, but you can also see how he has given his own twist to it over the years. He still looks slightly nervous, but not cautious anymore.

2:28 Ahsoka lands some kicks and gets Baylan down on the ground, he realizes again that his previous efforts were not enough and lets even more of the dark side in him.

2:45 Baylan stands back up and comes for Ahsoka again, when he enters the frame, his entire stance looks menacing, he stopped being cautious and is now also not nervous anymore, the confidence he has in that walk towards Ahsoka is terrifying, this is close to peak Baylan.

3:10 When he sees Ahsoka throw Shin against the rock, he is absolutely done with her, he knows he has to end the fight now. He gets Ahsoka down on the ground in 2 strikes, and when Ahsoka blocks the 3rd she even has to use the force to help. At this point he has basically won the fight, and upon realizing Sabine doesn't want to destroy the map, he takes his chance.

now go back to the first timestamp, 1:09, tell me that isn't a completely different Baylan standing there. I love Baylan, and Ray Stevenson executed him flawlessly, may he rest in peace.

That crazy 360 turn baylen does with the lightsaber @ 1:40 is 🔥

Also when he said “That was unwise” his walk-over is actually terrifying

I miss him. He was one of my favorite actors.

Ashoka let the skywalker arrogance get her on this one.

Never pulled the second saber, so vastly underestimated Baylen. She tried to beat Baylen at his own style of fighting which she has never been suited for.

If the goal is to stop them from getting the map, it’s just as easy to buy yourself time by sticking a saber through the scanning machine.

I do appreciate that Disney Wars gave us cool new colors in live action: Dark, Orange, Yellow, & White. Just wish the choreography was better.

I didn't like the show, but Ray Stevenson gave all that he had, that much is clear. May he Rest In Peace.

Baylan is by far one of if not the best character to come out of modern star wars, he's a calm, cool and collected person but a power house when dueling

You got to love how like for the first 2 minutes Baylan and Ahsoka are pretty much just feeling each other out of course Ahsoka makes the first move. She reminds us why she's one of the biggest badasses is star wars history.

3:04, 3:32, 3:47 these moments touched my heart ❤️💔🥺 Ahsoka and Sabine are worried about each other, it is clear that they have managed to forget about the disagreements that existed between them before and began to value each other, a master-apprentice connection appeared between them. Perhaps you could even say that they treat each other like mother and daughter, from a certain point of view. Very nice to see this. It’s noticeable that the writers put effort into writing the characters and their relationship. And of course it is worth noting that Rosario Dawson and Natasha Liu Bordizzo did a great job of understanding and acting out their heroines. Bravo! 👏

So sad that we won't get to see the end of Baylan's story.
