I love how the culture on the web is developing, such as the interconnectedness developing. ie the music from the Don, who sampled you. Also the more random aspects and emergent properties of the net, which is like what happened with the invention of the printing press. I somehow feel the relation to gremlins here as well.

This is a pretty cool analysis. Though I'm sure that at least some of it was intentional, I don't know if all of this symbolism was deliberate on the part of the filmmakers, but I like the idea that stories can have deeper meaning without the writers even being fully aware of it (another example being the Jack Horner rhyme, which I just watched the video about). I see this in my own stories. I started writing a story that was to be the first in a series, and later I decided to connect it to other stories I was developing, and I eventually began to create this larger mythology. At first it was just a fun creative exercise, but I decided more and more that I wanted it all to be infused with Christian meaning. And going back to this particular series of mine, and more specifically the first story, as I have thought more and more about the possible meaning and symbolism, I realize that what I have written before (in this story as well as previously unrelated stories) already has a lot of elements that are uncannily perfect for the overarching symbolism and structure of the larger story that contains my other stories. I hope to understand all this symbolism and stuff well enough that I can have a major impact on the culture, comparable to the popularity of movies such as Gremlins.
