R.E.P.O Advanced Upgrade Guide (+ The BEST strategy you're not using yet)

Updates/Corrections:
Found and tested a Bowtie, strength requirement is 7
Rugrat is 4 strength confirmed
Upscream and Spewer are 4 (spewer can kinda be moved around but needs 4 to properly slam it into things)

Forgot map player count upgrade entirely lol, it does not appear to have any scaling and just adds a counter to the bottom of your Tab map that shows the current living amount of players, not bad for deeper quotas on whoever is designated as the anchor that goes back to the truck first at the end before the final extract escape rush is started

As a rough rule of thumb for multi-player grabs it takes 2 players to lift smallish enemies (up to Animal size), 3 for medium (reaper, huntsman [good luck on huntsman lol], and 4 for large.

Check description for any updates! (strength breakpoint table is still a bit of a WIP)

Additional longer info on why the king strat is so insane: For every upgrade you have most other upgrades increase your ability to use all of the other upgrades, there is an exponential (pretty sure this is the word) bonus as you keep getting more and more power that lets you more quickly and effectively utilize every other upgrade you have. Being just strong is great, but having huge strength and range means you can yoink the heaviest items across entire rooms or deathpits safely, or the entire cart across a suspicious narrow bridge. Then if you have speed as well you can more effectively deliver items using said strength and also more effectively respond to any threats (there will be many) that are attacking your team. Stamina then improves that entire package, Health then improves the survivability of that entire package (rather important they live with this much investment), extra jumps then improves the effectiveness of the entire package via accessing higher and lower areas more safely and traversing deathpit rooms (the build's nemesis) with slightly more safety. The only thing that has some positive and some negative is Tumble because it's a little risky to tumble in some scenarios as it will go further than you can see, resulting in potential deathpit accidents or tumbling into a huge group of enemies. I sure wouldn't mind a meta rework of the upgrade system that made splitting them more viable though!

I feel like a pro in this game even though I never even played it, just because of these videos
Now I can judge my favorite Youtubers for their mistakes

Anyone else think about how brutal it was to watch this 6:44 streamer see an old blind guy fall face first down the stairs, walk over to him, and start bashing his face against the ground until deceased?

I’m loving these guides, after my midterms I’m about to play this game to the fullest

Sprint speed strength and range all have caveats once you're in the upper range at all, with around 5+ Sprint speed objects with begin to hit you if you start sprinting while holding them, after about 10 range if you grab fragiles from your actual effective range you'll often damage them the second you grab them due to the jerking when it pulls into the max holding range, and around 9+ strength all weapons begin to absolutely tweak at the handle when held, making it harder to use them in basically all situations, especially guns, some of these might have been mentioned in the video if not all, great guide

Health upgrade 1 is so peak
The amount of time it saves me from the 100 dmg hits is insane

Also, when playing with friends
We use the doping strat:
Give one person a lot of stamina up n speed
Who then rushes through rooms scanning then sprints to truck at last extraction
Very fun

Mark my words, Wurps is and will be the goat of R.E.P.O. educational content.

I know it isnt a conventional upgrade but the map player count really helps, especially when extraction is done and you're waiting for people to get to the truck.

For strength requirements- you mentioned that more players ignored strength requirements. Here’s a test for that.

We can observe that adding a player adds more lifting power than a +1 upgrade.

Try this hypothesis: Each player has an invisible base strength stat that is above 1, and each upgrade adds an additional +1. (So, for instance, maybe a player actually starts out with 5 strength and adds 1 with each upgrade)

To test, find an enemy that cannot be picked up by 2 people. Then see if they can be picked up by two people with strength upgrades. If it can, record how many upgrades are needed for 2 players to pick them up duo (b), then see how many upgrades are required for 1 player to pick them up solo (a)

Then, solve mathematically. The base strength of one player plus the upgrades required to solo (x+a) is equal to the strength of two players plus upgrades required to duo (x+x+b).
So:
x+a=x+x+b
(subtract x both sides)
a=x+b
(subtract b both sides)
a-b=x

So, upgrades for one person to lift the enemy minus the upgrades for two people to lift the enemy together is equal to the base strength that every player begins with and adds whenever they help. (Basically, the number of upgrades required to simulate adding another person).

You could also experiment with dividing the upgrades among the 2 players in different combinations. (One with all the upgrades vs. upgrades shared evenly). Any differences from this would reject my hypothesis.

Please feel free to correct my math if I goofed up!

I can definitely say multiple players can lift any enemy. I had a tranq gun last night hit the trudge and had a friend help me lift him off the ledge.

These guides are great, my friends and I are benefitting greatly! And by Benefitting, I mean getting stuck at quota 6 every game due to sheer incompetency. Still been a blast to learn and play!
