I can see how in business ellipsis are bad. But in creative writing where LESS IS MORE, and UNSAID THINGS HAVE POWER, they are really useful. Just don't over use them! Sometimes people stop half in a sentence. Yet from the surrounding area we should be able to pick up a lot.
Of course in business writing, that is a bad idea.

I find ellipses are handy dandy for when a character who is talking trails his words off, shows hesitation about something. For example "I don't know, it was a long time ago. How did I get that going..."
