i was surprised at how like-new we got our nearly 3-year old, used-daily-at-least vitamix container. so shiny!

I've had my Vitamix 7500 since 2013. I have two jars. Both are clear. I'm leaving this comment in 2022.

I had an old Vitamix rep tell me to *soak the jar once or month or so with water and drop a Finish dishwasher tablet*
(the one with the red ball in the center) in it to soak a few hours or overnight. Then wash and rinse clean. It removes
those cloudy mineral deposits and will help prevent new deposits from forming. Hope this helps! ♥♥♥

If you don’t want to scrub and don’t want to use vinegar, fill the container to the brim with water and then drop a few denture tablets. Leave it overnight. It works really well.

I have learned by trial and error, after use to wash, rinse it really well and DRY it real good, I dont' let it drip dry at all.. Thanks for the tip!

The preventative is to dry it completely after use! Once I managed to get mine clean I made sure to do this each time. Also, I applied coconut oil (thinly) to a paper towel and lubricated the inside-which also keeps it cleaner longer and does not make anything I have prepared taste bad.

Baking soda is an abrasive powder so yes, you're going to remove all the stain, but your jar will be foggy forever, unless is a glass jar. On a plastic jar, scrubbing baking soda is like using a sandpaper.

I just purchased a Vitamix from QVC. I'm researching how to take care of it before it gets to my home. I figured I wouldn't want to put it in the dish washer, so the seals would survive longer. Thank you for this video. I'm going to try to avoid the cloudiness by drying it, as you suggested. Otherwise, it should be pretty easy to take care of.

Thank you for the information, I tried it yesterday and it worked on my 7 year old container. I have never cleaned it, nor do I dry it after washing. It took a couple hours and lots of elbow grease but it's beautiful again.

Thanks for this tip! I'll definitely try it. I tried soaking with vinegar and water for several hours and I was able to scrub off some cloudiness (but not all). Thus, I think that soaking with vinegar and water for 24 hours and scrubbing with the baking soda paste afterwards will do the trick.

I have my Vitamix and several containers for about four (4) years and all the containers look as if I took them out of the box. I use Dawn Dishwashing liquid and water in the container and use the Vitamix to wash as per manufacture's instructions. I rise out the container immediately and hand dry with a microfiber cloth. Then I set the container set on the counter for about four (4) hours for an additional air dry. The microfiber cloth seems to buff the surfaces.

Doesn't using the baking soda leave micro scratches on the container? Do you still recommend this method of cleaning the Vitamix? I've never heard Vitamix approve of this method. Thanks for your insights.
