Insurance coverage at replacement value saves your life! My house fire of July 2021 - State Farm is providing full replacement value to build me a new house and replace my belongings. I'm starting over at 60 years old, but at least I can! Always prepare for the unexpected.

People really underestimate planning for the “smaller” personal events. It’s the everyday events which could be the most drastic and affect us the most.
My goal is to be 50% self-reliant, and that 50% would be like not going to the grocery store as much, but we still have insurances and still have great support from our neighbors and have several means of income.
Great info!

Wow! Such great advice. Yes, we tend to prepare for the “big” events and forget the personal ones. Thanks for reminding us to be prepared for the micro SHTF events.

I just stumbled upon your channel and I am so thankful for your detailed advice and shared experiences. Thanks for sharing such great wisdom and helping us all reach for a better and more prepared lifestyle!! :) I like to think that the difficult experiences we survive are what make us who we are, and after watching some of your videos that couldn't be more true!

As a child, I lived through losing a home to a flood and later another one to fire. We were always well loved and well fed. My parents taught us how to fish, garden, hunt and can our food. I raised my children the same way. I've never really considered myself a prepper...it's just a way of life.

FEMA has several preparedness downloadable brochures. I especially recommend their Financial First Aid Kit download.

I may be OCD about receipts and warranties, but they came in handy after our fire. Luckily the file box with that info was in the basement and survived our house fire. BUT - some of the receipts had faded to almost nothing. I think it's the print method? We now make copies on our printer/scanner for those big-ticket receipts.

PP you are the best, intelligent prepper. This just proves it. Please write a book. Not zombies coming, and fear mongering flashy videos like some do, but common sense for life, and for a world if something happens or if shtf happens, usable advice to be prepared. Your gold.
Thank you so much.

Definetly be financially in great shape! Thank God we worked hard to get totally out of debt and save up some cash. This year my husband was dx with throat cancer and had his voicebox removed and now going through 6 weeks of radiation. If we wouldn't have been in good financial shape with decent health insurance we would of lost everything! Bill's are already over $250, 000! Be SURE to have health insurance because if anything serious happens it could take everything you have!!!!

Awesome video. I learned too. late too many times. Fire, theft and illness sure can put a damper on the life flow. Things have changed here now and I think I have everything within my control covered. Things aren't perfect, but 'there's far less to worry about. Peace of mind means a lot. Thanks for doing this. You and Leisa are still my go to's.

I try to be prepared for the personal shtf possibilities and aspire to be ready for the bigger possibilities. I don't know if I will ever be totally ready for all personal possible happenings, but it makes it easier to not feel overwhelmed in my preparations. I like your idea of the threat assessment list! It's so smart and easy, and I am absolutely going to make such a list. Thank you so much for making things seem doable and not beyond reach.

Thanks for the info. I live in an apartment and have renters insurance so it would be a must have for home owners. Thankfully I live in a community that is very pro-active in terms of the upkeep of these apartments. I am blessed to have that. Thanks again.

Great video to bring the focus of prepping back to possible personal life situations. I found at least one topic in there where hubby and I differ on opinions so I know we have some work to do. Thank you!
