I'm from New Zealand and I can confirm that whenever I have to imagine how long things are in feet, I picture how many Subways it would be.

Tip, roll the bread out evenly, don't point the ends that much as the yeasty bois will do all the work for you... proof for as big as you want it to come out when its baked, (more than in the video) but not too much or it'll cry and deflate like papa's heart when he has to taste other people's food. (also, remember.. this is bread, not a cake...)

That lettuce mixture adds so much texture and flavor! Absolutely necessary😍

*I just adore all the passion Josh puts while cooking. He is paying so much attention to every little detail, everything is so precise - every component of the meal is made just perfect, the editing, the jokes, the presentation...Josh, if there was a Best Foodtuber Award, it should go actually to you, man, you da best!*

Josh, you should do a “But Healthier” segment. I think it would be great for you to give us some tips on cooking delicious meals that are on the healthier side, but still taste good! Just a thought :)

Our local "sub-shop" has really gone downhill in terms of quality of ingredients lately. Certainly not worth the money. This recipe is a great way to have a quality substitute for the whole family. Thanks for putting this together!

Dunno why I was unsubscribed to your channel all the sudden…your spiral bound cookbook is in the mail, and I’ve been cooking up a storm thanks to you & your channel. Thanks for the inspiration!

Cardinal Sin detected: cheese ALWAYS goes on top of meat. There are zero exceptions in the sandwich world ever. Period. No kiss.

I got the cheapest deli slicer (like 35 USD) I could find that looked like it might actually work and it's literally the best for slicing anything - it's good enough for occasional use at home. Recommend upgrading to a 50 buck one if you find it weak...I got my kitchenaid stand mixer (the flip top, not the bumper jack one) at charity thrift store for 10 bucks so keep your eyes peeled and you'll find some well loved quality appliances here and there that you can give a good home to.
But the first time I shredded lettuce for burgers with that thing ... was a moment. Tomato slices that don't destroy your burger geometry and making your own long thin pickle slices...

Very similar to the hoagie rolls in the steak sandwich recipe. Not complaining! I made those, and they turned out fantastic. (I would note that I also used regular bread yeast rather than instant, and after giving them a little more time in the warm bath to assure a-bubblin', it turned out just fine.)

You should make a few triple: but cheaper, faster and better. Many of these recipes make for both cheaper and better already. This only shows how fast food is often a broken moxel.

Seeing some of these comments i think a bit of context is perhaps necessary in that Texas compared to other areas of the United States is not as expensive in regards to groceries. I can find 4 avocados for $ 3.78 in Central TX vs 4 rock solid avocados for $ 5 in Upstate NY.
Also usually you should wait for sales on certain products like meat, milk, mayo, etc.
Note: not gonna try to compare to other countries since I'm not knowledgeable like Canada or even Mexico and I chose avocado for comparison bc it's such an expensive produce item to begin with.

Would love to see a full but cheaper/better on cold cuts in general. Turkey, roast beef, ham, etc at $10/lb is too much for average quality meat packed with preservatives

Yesterday I made a 2ft long sub with lettuce, bacon, tomato, sauce and pickles, the bread was hard so it was like a full jaw workout.
Felt like doing a hundred pushups with my jaw.
