A house fire that involves ONE person and not finding any trace of bones is practically unheard of, so FIVE people and not one bone fragment, not one tooth, nothing?!

Absolutely impossible.

i can only imagine how horribly helpless the parents felt, having to just stand there and watch their house burn to the ground, thinking their children are stuck inside

I just heard about a really wild story that Kris should cover. Have you heard about the boy who lived in the wall, AKA Daniel LaPlante? That is a crazy murder/stalking case that needs the KMK storytelling magic.

The sodder family case has always interested me, so thank you for shedding more light on it. I hope this family finds answers someday for what happened to those poor children.

About 14 years ago I went on the worst call of my career. It was for four children under the age of 8 that were trapped in a house fire. The mother and 13 year old girl got out but all the younger kids died in their room. Putting those babies into black body bags to take up to the crime lab was the hardest thing I've had to do and to this day I still think about them. I love my job but things like this haunt me everyday at any moment.

Edit: fixed a misspelled word

That fire was DEFINITELY a cover up and those children DID NOT die in the fire.

House fires get approximately 1500 degrees. When someone is cremated the fire is 1400 to 1800 degrees and leaves bone fragments behind. I do not believe those children burned in that fire.

This cased gave me chills. I wrote a 16 page essay about this case when I was in middle school and I am still so curious about this. When people were reportedly seeing them around town, that gave me even more chills. I can't imagine the pain that the parents felt. I personally think that the fire was not an accident. I may just be crazy but the facts
1. the kids were missing
2. The cars didn't work
3. The ladder was missing
4. They weren't in the usual spot
5. The bodies were never found
6. Nobody could or didn't reach the
it really odd for me. I live a 3 minute walk away from a fire station and from what I remember, they didn't live that far away either. I still stay up sometimes reading it almost 5 years later.

As a born and raised West Virginian (northern panhandle) so much weird crap happens here. They’re more unsolved cold cases than most people know. We just got weird vibes here, especially after dark. We’re an absolutely beautiful state, we just got a lot of weird things that happen 😅

Zip codes 90132 and 90135 are both for Palermo, Italy.

It was VERY common for children to be kidnapped and sold to other couples. Many orphanages at the time were used to kind of launder the children into new identities. Case in point, there was one notorious lady named Georgia Tann, who became a millionaire selling kidnapped children. So, there was money there.

Also, a fun fact is that the professional wrestler Ric "The Nature Boy" Flair was one of her victims. His real birth name and family are still not known to this day, but, as an infant, he was laundered through her orphanage and sold off. Georgia Tann operated out of Tennessee, but this happened across the country.

First going through the grief as a parent, loosing your kids. Then living a life of so many questions, untill their own deaths. So sad...

Its so heartbreaking knowing Jenny and George passed not knowing or have any answers regarding the disappearance of their children. I can't imagine the pain they must have lived with every day. I hope they're resting peacefully now.

What if the numbers on the letter from Louis Sodder was a car license plate? If they truly did live and were kidnapped, he may have remembered the license plate but the 2 and 5 looked too similar for him to tell them apart so he wrote both.

Also, with the house fire situation. There was, at one point a ballerina academy magazine that got delivered to the sodder family doorstep. The father saw on of the girls on the cover, and became convinced it was his youngest missing daughter. He contacted the dance academy demanding to know who she was with no response (I can understand why, you can't just give out personal info) and he eventually took a several hour road trip to the academy to visit it in person, again. Sadly, this lead to no avail.

I will never understand with a lot of these missing person cases why people say they saw or came face to face with the said missing person but never did anything?! Never called the police to report they saw them, never brought them to a police officer, just came out years later like “oh yeah think I saw them leaving the house when it was on fire”

I'm not sure why, but I was really expecting there to be a theory of the children setting the fire and running away.
