When someone tries to insult you but you're too busy making underwater bubble noises in your head.

Yes, being the odd kid makes you tough in some respects. Also my intrusive thoughts are way more savage and devastating than anyone who ever tried to insult me. (;

Finding out that I very probably have ADHD was a pivotal thing for me. All of a sudden I understood WHY I was different - something I'd known since I was about five or six years old but I didn't know why at the time. All of a sudden I was not weird for doing certain things and being a certain way because there are others who are the same as me. It's been wonderful to learn I'm not alone.

Recently I was thinking about how I was bullied a lot in elementary school, but that by the end of middle school and high school, I wasn't really bullied as much. Then I realized that I was, I had just stopped caring what other people had to say. It's kinda cool to realize that you can become so strong that you don't even realize random people are trying to hurt you anymore.

The amount of times I was told I was weird or crazy, so I just started saying, Yah I know, but at least I'm not boring...
They never had a comeback for that one lol ❤

Omg. Thank you for making folks understand about ADHD

When your own Mom called you crazy for your entire childhood, random people’s opinions don’t really have an effect. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I grew up with undiagnosed ADHD. My general observations alone about people have brought many to tears. My being "general" was my being sensitive. Weird kids eventually grow tired of ridicule.

One thing i have constantly stood up for since i was in my 20s was just: embrace the weirdo in you! Im weird and silly and a bubblygoofball and whenever i tell my toddler hes weird or silly i always do it lightheartedly and tell him its ok to be silly or weird, momma and dadda are suuuuper silly with a smidge of weirddness. I want him growing up knowing its ok if not everyone gets you. They dont need to

It doesn’t bother me from strangers. From the ones I love though… still hurts.

the universal neurodivergent experience is being hated and disliked by people who don’t even know you because they find you weird 😭

Insults are complements to me. People can never get the reaction they crave out of me, haha. 😁

It’s funny because once they start I’m like who hurt you 🤣

All in the mind! You’ve been working longer and harder on your mind and mental health than majority of people. Regulating emotions, doing research.
Savage is an understatement 🤗🙌♥️

I love when they call me a psycho and ask if I even care. Like yeah I'm the psycho for not caring that your trying to hurt my feelings😂

Is that why I'm not scared of Mountain Lions or walking thru the woods in the dark alone??? I just figured it's faith and Love as my guiding light. Guess that's why I've been gifted with the super power to hear everything at once. 😘
