Pretentious Bell Pepper and Tomato Pasta

1/2 lb (8 oz) dry linguini
1 pretentious red bell pepper
10 oz cherry tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
1/4 large yellow onion
1/3 cup heavy cream, half and half, or whole milk.
5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp italian seasoning
1 bunch fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp grated parmigiano reggiano

Preheat oven to 400 F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Remove core, seeds, and membrane from bell pepper, then roughly chop. Combine in a bowl with cherry tomatoes, 2 tbsp of olive oil, salt, pepper, and italian seasoning. Toss to combine, then spread evenly on foil-lined baking sheet. Roast in oven for 25 minutes, or until tender.

Meanwhile, bring salted water to a boil in a large stockpot. Cook linguine until al dente, then drain and set aside while reserving 1/4 cup pasta water.

Dice onion and roughly chop garlic, then cook in high-walled skillet using remaining 3tbsp olive oil. Add 1 tsp red pepper flakes midway through cooking. When garlic begins to turn golden brown, turn heat to low.

Once veggies have finished roasting, blend using an immersion blender or food processor until smooth. Add cream / milk and blend until combined, season to taste with salt and pepper.

Add cooked linguine and 2/3 sauce to the pan (you will have extra). Add grated parmesan and torn basil leaves, then stir to combine. If the sauce seems dry, add part of your reserved pasta water or more cream/milk until desired consistency is achieved. Add salt, pepper, and additional Italian seasoning to taste. Serve on plate and garnish with additional grated parmesan and basil and enjoy.

Note: you may leftover sauce, which you may use as an orange pigment for painting purposes should you suddenly feel the desire to be a pretentious artist yourself.

Note 2: While the aforementioned bell pepper present in this recipe may bear resemblance to a certain pepper-shaped man, the two are completely unrelated. The bell pepper in this recipe is merely a facsimile of said pepper-shaped man, and is nothing other than a basic ingredient. There is actually nothing pretentious about it, you're likely just projecting.

---

This recipe is loosely adapted from a similar one found online with a few changes in ingredients to suit what I had on hand at the time. I didn't know what to expect going in, but honestly the end result was pretty great. The gentle sweet acidity from the cherry tomatoes plays really well with the bitter brightness of the pepper for the sauce. If you've got a bell pepper and a few tomatoes laying around, consider giving this one a try!

I'm inclined to believe Richaad might also just be doing these videos as a clever means of showing off his cooking skills and posting his recipes.

This cover hits harder than Pepperman’s commission prices

For a first boss, it's crazy how hard Pepperman's theme goes. It's basically my favorite boss theme from the game other than Unexpectancy.

1:11 I don’t know if this was intentional but I love how that riff has a clip of you using a tool that has a high pitched whirring sound, so the sound matches up perfectly.

I love how he is aggressively cutting the pepper and flipping it off

The videos for these covers are just as good as the music itself. You get the P-rank, Richaad.

The touch with having a cooking show as a setting of the videos is absolutely brilliant.
Looking forward to more of these!
