I really appreciate Stephen saying he’s not drinking until after the election, and acknowledging that he would really like a drink. That’s really setting a good example.

My first confession was done at Catholic school and I was so young and so scared I peed myself in the confessional booth. I was so embarrassed, I told no one. To say our penance, everyone knelt along the altar to pray and then returned to the pews. Watching the other kids at the altar, I could tell who had been in my booth because the soles of their shoes were wet. Humiliated then, but I can laugh about it now.

Here's a funny story about confession. I was preparing for mine, aged six, in a convent school in Galway. The nuns said we had to confess three sins at our first confession, and every Saturday from then on, otherwise we couldn't take communion on Sunday. I asked the nun if we had to commit the same sins every week so that we would be ready for confession on Saturdays. She was speechless because she suddenly realised that that's what we were being encouraged to do. If we didn't commit sins we would have nothing to tell the priest.😂😂😂

The funniest first confession story I ever heard was a guy telling of how he was so nervous he didn't know what to say. However, he had a teenage sister and she gave him a tip and made him rehearse it. So he got into the confessional and when the priest asked he said "self abuse". The priest said, "I think I need to have a talk with your sister." 😀

I just spit my morning coffee out laffing at Stephen's "confession" story!!! Tucci shooting right back at him "oh so you thought that God needed to actually hear your confession" just made me choke!!!! I had tears I was laffing so hard!!! Great start to my day!!!

He was shouting so that God could hear him! That was hysterical.

I love him too, and also that he lives in my country!! He’s a treasure, a star, and a maestro.
Long may me be on our screens and our hearts. ♥️

I will always remember Stanley Tucci that has the best performance of Puck I've ever seen. To this day, when the closing words of that great play repeat in my head, they are in his voice. Thank you for that.

In case anyone couldn't decipher what Colbert was referring to at the 0:12 mark—he said "Proust's madeleine." It is a term for a storytelling device that is wonderfully illustrated in the Pixar movie "Ratatouille", in the famous scene where the savagely snobby food critic Anton Ego takes a bite out of Remy's ratatouille, the taste of which triggers a childhood memory that melts his character.

What's there not to love about Stanley Tucci? His acting, to me, has always been so convincing that I truly thought he was who he played. I love it when I don't see the actor anymore but the person he/she plays, that's just darn good.

I've loved everything I've ever seen Stanley Tucci in, and he can play ANYTHING equally well! I haven't seen that one they played the tiny snippet of, but just a glance of him in a Cardinal's robes, and I instantly know he can play it perfectly.

This interview was way too short, I'd love to have a few drinks with Stanley Tucci. I think it would turn into a fun night.😂
