Lenovo ThinkPad Yokohama Japan Labs Tour

Lisa Gade takes you on a tour of Lenovo's ThinkPad design and testing lab in Yokohama Japan. This is the lab where most ThinkPad design takes place, dating back to the IBM days and continuing on in the present day Lenovo era. ThinkPad X, T and P series models as well as the ThinkPad Yoga line pass 12 mil spec tests for vibration, impact, dust, moisture and even explosive atmosphere testing, and you'll see some of that testing here.

The durability of the Thinkpad line is something to behold. I've always respected the work horse aspect of these tough and utilitarian machines.

Thinkpads really are built like tanks. Last for a decade, at least. Sure, they slow down after several years but everything still works!

Glad to see thinkpad still continue this legacy being tested strong, tough, durable laptop I remember from IBM days. This is the very reason I am still a thinkpad user as well as a fans after 10 years using X and T series. Loving it. Hope Lenovo maintains this legacy and the classic design if not better from IBM.

Ha! At 0:45 I though I was seeing a T25 display rotating 360 degrees about its hinges. I stared in disbelief for a moment before realizing that the ThinkPad 25 wallpaper was on a Yoga, and was not intended to identify the machine type.

My favorite tech channel. Thanks for sharing! I was debating whether to get a Lenovo P series workstation or a Dell Precision mobile workstation and was leaning towards a Dell but I may have to reconsider! I always liked Thinkpads but never owned one.
