Underrated moment was the purposefully vague commentary about a legal dispute with another grinder manufacturer to then flashing the comandante. Chefs kiss on the production magic there hahaha

The explanation of the pros and cons of 'high clarity' grinders, plus the direct comparison to two other frequently discussed ZP6 competitors makes this a very informative video for those getting deep into pour over.

I've owned the three grinders discussed here. I think your take is 100% spot on.

Huge fan of the ZP6, got one around the start of 2024 and it's been immensely helpful being a Roaster using it for QC / QA / Coffee profiling purposes. Great review! Glad I'm not the only one who thought Pietro has it's issues despite it being the "clarity god". Cheers! ~

Subbed. I had the same choice to make between the ZP6 and Pietro. Chose the ZP6 + J-Ultra because combined they were cheaper than the Pietro. Also got them from Rogue Wave!

I recently bought this grinder one week ago, upgrading from timemore C3. As someone who drinks light to medium roast, i agree. This zp6 won't be my only grinder for pourover. Sometimes you want to experience more blended taste.

With the encouragement of this video, I got a K-Ultra as my all-rounder grinder and I absolutely love it. Great body and complexity for French Press and mocha pot, but also really good clarity for pour-over. Fantastic range. One day I'll splurge and get a zp6 just for pour-over; but the K-Utra is a fantastic choice.

Agree overall with your takes! I also have both the ZP6 and Pietro with Pro Brew burrs. Despite all its flaws, the cup quality of the Pietro just keeps pulling me back. ZP6 is great as well though. Definitely a great time to be a hand grinder enthusiast.

Cant agree more, Everything is perfectly explained. I have pietro, zp6, electric a4z (a4z), kultra and c40 but my goto cups for 90+ grade coffees is Pietro. Just the flavor separation is insane.

I bought the ZP6 about a month ago, and it turned out to be the best investment I've ever made related to coffee. I only brew light roasts for myself, so no surprises there. Will still keep my Ode gen 2 though, but only because I brew slightly more developed coffees for my friends and guests. Great review!

This video actually pushed me towards the Pietro - wife has been asking me to pick a birthday gift under $500 and I wanted a high clarity hand grinder to complement/contrast my C40. Think I can deal with the bad workflow since it's not my only grinder.

I own a k-ultra and couldn't be happier with the pour over brews. I brew light and fruity clarity 8/10 times with the occasional medium roast traditional cup. I dont even have to try or think about it and the coffee comes out amazing every time. I Just purchased a bambino for espresso and the k-ultras performs incredibly as well.
I always considered buying a zp6 as my second grinder to have clarity cups but k-ultra tastes so good to me i dont even think i want a second grinder anymore.
