Glad you are recommending the K6, it didn't get much praise in your ultimate handgrinder comparison video, even though it's absolutely fantastic and kicking waaay above it's league, comparable to (or even beating) grinders 2 to 3 times the price.

I have a K6 and am totally happy with it now that I understand that the settings on the grinder may be significantly off and cannot be recalibrated. As someone new to making their own espresso, I did what probably everyone does as a beginner. I googled "how many clicks" to make espresso on Kingrinder K6 and also used their settings grind chart. I was losing my mind for months because I was using other users click setting suggestions. What I didn't realize is that one of shortcomings of the K6, from my understanding, is that it can be up to 45 clicks off from zero and still be considered within spec. Once I found that out and started to go 10-15 outside of other users suggested clicks for a cafelat robot, I've been having great results. So not a big deal once you figure that out but I have to admit that when I didn't know, I didn't touch my robot for months.

I have been using the K6 one year almost everyday for V60 and Aeropress, and ocasionally with my flair pro 2, and without a question it has been a gamechanger. I borrowed a K plus 1ZPresso for a couple of weeks, and was sure it was my destined grinder, but was unable to find it in a reasonable price due to import rates. So I made due diligence and got the K6. Trust Lance, trust me, it is worth every cent, it is a steal, the quality of the grind from the 1Zpresso I could not distinguish at all. Build quality might not be the same, but the important stuff (burr and adjustment system, and the ability to get a perfect shot from any espresso machine) its right there with the comandante and 1zpresso k series.

Thanks to your videos I have been very happy with my k-ultra/max (whatever it is now) for a year now!

really happy with my Kinu Phoenix. Fast, reliable, built like a tank and easy to use. Not the best for filter but good for aeropress and great for espresso.

I've been slangin' a JX-PRO for quite some time. I think it's definitely on par with the K stuff (for the most part) and shouldn't be forgotten.

Brilliant to have an update on the currently available grinders from someone so knowledgeable. Thank you.

I just gave myself the K6 grinder as my wife's Xmas present to me, being a past Hario user, and really find this a great grinder. As an advocate for noting burr separation, if possible, I decided to do so for the K6. A little trigonometry gives a value of microns/click = 16 * Sin(Burr-angle) and I measured the burr-angle ~15 deg, so that means the burr separation = 16 * Sin(15) * #Clicks = 16 *.25882 * #Clicks = 4.14 microns * #Clicks. A good approximation would be ~4 * #Clicks so 25 Clicks ~ 100 microns. Now I can compare that with the same burr setting on my df83 and see how the respective shots compare.

I have the Kinu M47 classic and although it's the only hand grinder I've owned, it does a fantastic job of espresso and Turkish. One thing I did with mine, and this may apply to other hand grinders aswell, is to wrap one single layer of Cellotape round the shaft where the burr goes. This was because the burr had some slight play on the shaft and therefore would be misaligned and produce different size particals. This is probably unnoticeable, but it was such an easy fix I thought it was worth it to get the best out of such an expensive grinder.

Finally made a decision and purchased the KinGrinder 6. I researched the options, relying heavily on all your hand grinder videos. The KG-6 has many features of much more expensive choices. I wanted to have a back up if my daily electric grinder failed, a good grinder for my guest set up and I will use it for travel . And value for money of course.
A big factor is that the KinGrinder is available on Amazon where I already shop. Many other options require setting up new accounts and I am reluctant to send my info anywhere I don’t absolutely have to. Call it an old person (72) foible. As of this date, the Seattle public library system has been crippled for a week with a ransom wear attack, back to doing everything by hand. It can happen to anyone.

You are more than a wealth of information, appreciate all that you do.

I had the pleasure of meeting your cardboard cutout last year in Portland for the SCA expo, very approachable yet strangely quiet.

This video inspired the purchase of your recommended budget hand grinder (KINGrinder) and I’ve been impressed. Currently using for special requests on a small scale however it’s been fun comparing the brews against our Ditting lab grinder via pour over. First impression is appears to bring out brighter notes in fresh naturals and terrible notes in aged coffee.

Looking forward to comparing espresso.

loves this spread, got the
zp6 for light filter /aeropress
k-max for light to medium espresso
and on its way from taiwan a 1zpresso q-air (q2 heptagonal in a lightweight plasic shell) for backpacking light-medium or at home for dark roast
had the j-max but sold it to getmoney for the k-max, and im not looking back :D

Really nice format with the overlays and production.

I just got a ZP6 a few days ago and I'm working on dialing it in for my filter brews. I'm coming from an OE Lido 3, which, despite its strengths, is an absolute nightmare to adjust and use in terms of ergonomics. The ZP6's simple adjustment mechanism is a million times better. Retention is a lot lower as well.

Jumped straight from a Hario Skerton to a 1zpresso K-max
