Thanks Chad! In short:
1. Make sure the preacher's mic is ON when he walks up the stage
2. Make sure there is no feedback on stage (by using proper mics, place them well and using EQ)
3. Avoid harsh frequencies in the mix (using EQ)

All i heard was "acoustic guitar tone doesn't matter." That's my new motto.

Great video Chad. Informative and straight to the point. Agree with everything. @4:36 Avoid Harsh Frequencies - I agree 100% (I personally run a PEQ at roughly 2.5kHz zone specifically to address the harsh frequencies) but this phenomena has one frustrating nuance: if the volunteer sound tech has hearing loss and doesn't know it, they can't hear the harshness and therefore won't address the problem. If your volunteer's past life included regularly attending loud concerts and enjoys hunting and drag racing (without hearing protection for decades), chances are, they probably have hearing loss and may not even be able to tell that their mix has harsh frequencies .... a very difficult situation to address.

A question for you. I save different parts of our service on different snippets. Unfortunately, you don't fine tune your pulpit mic when you create your snippet for your praise band, for example. Is there a way to transfer your pulpit mic settings under another snippet, to your praise band snippet settings, just in case someone grabs the pulpit mic when your using the praise band snippet? Hope that's clear.
