Blue Nile is one of Matty Healy’s favorite bands. It’s been said Matty texted her the song Downtown Lights, probably toward the end of her relationship with Joe, and it got her thinking about him. She was “bone deep bored” and people were expecting “long-suffering propriety” and commitment to Joe from her. She and Matty had never actually been together yet, but had toyed with it when they were much younger. She was fantasizing and building it up in her mind, saying she might as well roll the stone away because she was going to be crucified for leaving Joe for Matty. Can she be “guilty as sin” of cheating on Joe if it’s only in her mind? Obviously she decided to break it off and be with Matty. It turned out he was a cad, but she didn’t know that yet and, in her mind, he was much more exciting than the life she had with Joe.

Some people have pointed out the sonical similarities to "About You" by The 1975. That is also the song Matty said "This is about you. You know who you are. I love you." which Taylor then said before performing "cardigan". And cardigan has the line "Peter losing Wendy" and now she has a song called Peter, wich I personally think is also about him. I would love your reaction to Peter, because it is such a deep and sad song and regardless about whom it is, it is just so relatable. I'd love your thoughts about it!!!❤

Also, to get spicy, studies show WOMEN get more bored with the s life in long term relationships than men do, despite the stereotypes. So often when women get bored with that aspect of stability, they immediately feel guilty, because society tells women they shouldn't have appetites or varied needs. But women deserve a good s life!! Fantasies, experimentation, longing, passion, all of these things can be worked on and should be encouraged in long term love. I think if one has more fantasies about someone else than your partner, that could be a sign that you should discuss/work on things with your person. But the occasional spicy feelings about someone else can be used to reinvigorate long term love, if that's what you want, and should not make you feel guilty or bad. We're all human, and that's a great thing 🙂
