Android keyboard missing microphone fix (Samsung, LG, HTC, etc.)

How to fix the "missing microphone" issue on any android keyboard. Galaxy Note 5 used for demonstration.

Thank you Julian. Somehow you basically got me pointed in the right direction. I saw finally that I somehow had turned off my voice input option, so no microphone when trying to type anything. Thanks again!

You ROCK! I had been trying to read all these different suggestions. When you mentioned right off about the voice search I looked for it and realized it had been deleted or corrupted. I added that back in and it fixed the problem @ 0:30 in. WOW~! So helpful. Thanks for your help.

SUPER HELPFUL. Not one other article or video noted that you must have the Google App enabled before the voice to text option will appear in language and input. Thank you!!!

Thank u sir! I had previously uninstalled Google Search, in order to get it off my home-screen. Now, I just downloaded the Google Voice Search app & made sure everything had permission to the mic. I'm a self-employed/very busy person & needed this bad. Fixed!

I know this is old advice by tech standards of time, but I used it and even though my keyboard was different I found the key headings Julian (?) uses and it worked for me - after a lot of frustration with other help pages and videos that were much too detailed and no helpful. Good job, man. I'm an old timer but I still bang my head against this technology shit and I appreciate the hurdle-help, I used to call it my students in special ed.
