WHY I DON'T LIKE THE CISCO ASA-5506-FTD-K9 its Waaay different but also...

Oh boy, this is not your typical ASA. It is no longer a separate tab but all integrated. This is version 6.1. They stripped out a lot of the goodies, gave it a Fisher Price Gui and made nearly everything a perpetual subscription. $600 to buy then $400 per year to use any of the good features for it.
Sorry Cisco, this is not ready for prime time and is really an embarrassment. I tried what I could without an extended license as a test by blocking traffic to China, it then blocked ALL MY traffic. Every change requires a download which takes several minutes to take. No QOS, no site to site VPN, Cisco what are you thinking?

The wizard via CLI broke my interfaces, had to go into FTD cli to fix, also the upgrade tool did not work, the documentation said the password was one thing but my code the password was SourceFire. Cisco TAC would no speak with me because my SmartNet was not active, they blocked my Gold Partner account from downloading the latest threat defense software. This thing was a nightmare. Back in the box you go!

I am ripping out my Cisco 5506-x and cisco switch and going fortigate, not even bothering converting to FTD. seem like a crappy version of a home wannabe NGFW software.
