♪ LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING Lyrics ♪

He said "I was in my early forties
With a lot of life before me
When a moment came that stopped me on a dime
I spent most of the next days
Looking at the x-rays and talkin' 'bout the options,
And talkin' 'bout sweet time."
I asked him "When it sank in that this might really be the real end
How's it hit you when you get that kind of news?
Man, what'd you do?" And he said

"I went skydiving, I went Rocky Mountain climbing,
I went two point seven seconds
On a bull named Fu Man Chu ♪
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I've been denying"
And he said, "Someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dying."

He said " I was a finally the husband
That most of the time I wasn't
And I became a friend a friend would like to have
And all a sudden going fishin'
Wasn't such an imposition. And I went three times that year I lost my dad
Well I, I finally read the Good Book and I
took a good, long, hard look at what I'd do if I could do it all again
And then

"I went skydiving, I went Rocky Mountain climbing,
I went two point seven seconds
On a bull named Fu Man Chu
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I've been denying"
And he said, Someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dying

Like tomorrow was a gift, and you've got eternity
To think about what you'd do with it,
What could you do with it
What did I do with it?
What did I do with it?

Skydiving, I went Rocky Mountain climbing,
I went two point seven seconds
On a bull named Fu Man Chu
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
And I gave forgiveness I've been denying"
And he said, "Someday I hope you get the chance
Oh Someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dying

Thanks for watching! This song has become one of our favorite songs to sing and we really like the reminder to live in every moment. What do you do to live in the moment?

This song made me cry because I remembered when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer and didn't know if I would live or die. By the Grace of God, I am still alive and that was 2015.

Live your lives, people!! Watch the movies you've been wanting to watch, do the things you've been wanting to do, spend time with the people you love as much as you can, share kindness to as many as people. Make each and everyday your new favorite day, and LIVE!! All those works, stress, worries?? Those stuff can wait, tomorrow is not promised.

This was one of my mom's favorite songs. She always lived in the moment. Sep 2021 she went swimming with whale sharks not knowing she'd only have 9 months to live. She would be soon diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 58, by then she had already accomplished many of her personal dreams. Her life was cut short, yet she lived many "lifetimes" of some people!

After losing my brother, I tried my best to love deeper, talk sweeter, and forgive more. It's been almost a year now since his death. This video was the reminder I needed to get back on track with my goal. Thank you One Voice Children's Choir. ❤

i was diagnosed with TTP at 8 years old. i got admitted to the ICU with 10 platelet count and 3.4 hemoglobin. my doctors was basically shocked i was alive when i was a week away from passing away at home. i “got better” and relapsed at 11 years old, passing out at school. flatlined in the hospital, didn’t have a pulse for 1-2 mins. fast forward to 2019, my tire popped on the freeway, spun from right side to the left at 11am and came out unscathed. i am 30 now and i feel like my life has just started, but blessed every single day because what if i died at 8? i have a life to live and spread my story. have an amazing day everyone and be grateful 🫶🏼

Beautiful! One of the really fun parts of being a fan of OVCC & to regularly watch your videos is to get to “know” all of these children by sight, if not by name. We have the privilege of seeing these incredible children grow & change from video to video & to come into their own as they have the opportunity to solo every now & again. I always stand on awe of the amazing arrangements of the music by Masa. What a God given gift you have been blessed with & so willingly share with us. Thank you!

This helped me through some hard times where I lost 4 friends in 3 years: 1 to suicide, 1 to overdose, and 2 to accidents. My daughter just lost a friend to an accident this week, so how fragile life has been has been on my mind.

I decided to listen to some of your songs, because I’ve been a fan for a while, and then remembered I have a student in this choir (I’m a 7th grade English teacher). I popped on this song to see what it was going to be like, and within the first minute, I found my student!

Then, you absolutely knocked my socks off and made the hairs stand up all over my body the whole time. That was sung with feeling and heart, and it was amazing. Fantastic job, y’all! 🥹🤧👏🏻

This song moves me. Written for Tim’s dad, MLB pitcher Tug McGraw who was my childhood hero, it touches me like few songs do. Thank you for covering this and providing such a wonderful, moving version.

I've know this song for a long time, but this time, this version...I'm a 51 year old man bawling like a baby at this rendition. Amazing.
