Lyrics (children-friendly version)
Here's to the ones that we got
Cheers to the wish you were here, but you're not
'Cause the dreams bring back all the memories
Of everything we've been through
Close to the ones here today
Close to the ones that we lost on the way
'Cause the dreams bring back all the memories
And the memories bring back, memories bring back you
There's a time that I remember, when I did not know no pain
When I believed in forever, and everything would stay the same
Now my heart feel like December when somebody say your name
'Cause I can't reach out to call you, but I know I will one day, yeah
Everybody hurts sometimes
Everybody hurts someday, ayy ayy
But everything gon' be alright
Go raise your voice and say, ayy
(Chorus repeat)
Doo doo, doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo
Memories bring back, memories bring back you
There's a time that I remember when I never felt so lost
When I felt all of the hatred was too powerful to stop (ooh, yeah)
Now my heart feel like an ember and it's lighting up the dark
I'll carry these torches for ya that you know I'll never drop, yeah
Everybody hurts sometimes
Everybody hurts someday, ayy ayy
But everything gon' be alright
Go raise your voice and say, ayy
(Chorus repeat)
Doo doo, doo doo doo doo…

I was listening thinking, “I hope this song never ends.” But the way they ended it made it ok that it’s over. So good👏

I am leaving a comment in a hope that after a month
or a year or a decade when some one likes it, I
get a reminder of listening to this beautiful masterpiece
again...❤️❤️

I am 74 years old. I have aways been connected, emotionally, to aging, to good-byes and to death. I was an elementary school teacher prior to my retirement. I love children. I love their openness, their honesty, their beauty. I just cannot get over this song and its presentation by these amazing musicians. I listen to it over and over again and each time I am moved by it. I can't imagine how the director was able to put this together. Kudos to all who had a part in this presentation. I will continue to listen to it forever. Thank you.

The original song was playing in my dads truck back in june 2020. I told my dad I liked this song. It was kind of sad. Two days later, my dad died. When I heard this version about a week later, it brought me to heart breaking tears. Now when I hear this song, it takes me back to that happy moment when I was driving him around, in his truck. Just me and him. I love this song and it makes me miss him so much.

Why does this version "Memories" bring tears to my eyes? Am I alone? Am I crazy?

I was so grateful to hear this today. My son passed after a tragic accident in January. This has been a very hard year. This song and your performance is beautiful and I will never forget how it has helped me in my healing.

This brought me to tears -- healing tears of loving memories of our daugher, son-in-law, and grandson. All three passed away completely unexpectedly within the past 6 months.

Friends... I CRIED and CRIED for the first three times I watched this video. Cried because I was so impacted by the BEAUTY of this arrangement, the very original use of each voice. The expressions of the children, the fact that it represented "staying together" during this Pandemic. But by the fourth time, I turned on all the speakers in my home and just ABSORBED every little detail and nuance of your production with sheer delight. I'm only sorry I've found you so late. How spectacular your productions, the children's attitude and the spirit of this director. I attended an art conservatory as a child (Conservatorio de Castella in Costa Rica), and this brought back so many memories of the beautiful productions we did. Thank you for motivating these children and inspiring the rest of us!

The fact that they put in time and effort to do this in quarantine, shows that there are some people in this world who'll never give up and these 100 kids show you that with their beautiful voices.
