Radical Candor - Improve your in person, impromptu feedback | Radical Candor

Показать описание
At Radical Candor we want to help you have better relationships at work and do the best work of your lives.
One of the biggest problems is that we don’t give enough in person, impromptu feedback. It can feel patronizing to give praise and giving criticism can feel mean.
Even when people do give feedback, they are often not as clear or helpful as they intend to be.
And so we’ve developed a simple framework for ‘Radical Candor’ to help you develop a culture of good feedback.
Nobody starts their career thinking I don’t give a damn about people so I’m gonna be a great boss. Yet, about the time you’re 18, someone tells you to 'be professional.' And somehow that gets interpreted to mean leave your humanity - the best part of yourself - at home.
When you’re 18 months old - just starting to talk - your parents say to you, ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.’ Now as a manager, it’s your job to say it.
Radical Candor is Caring Personally and Challenging Directly, and it’s very hard to do because you have to undo training that’s been installed since you were 18 months and 18 years old.
We’ve made it easier for you to give Radically Candid feedback by making it clear what happens when you don’t.
Radical Candor really means, "say what you think". Just say it!
