Wall texture can have different patterns like knockdown or orange peel. It can have heavy to light texture too. You can apply this Homax pro grade knockdown texture without using primer. The Homax knockdown knife is also a great tool to knock down the texture smoothly and evenly.

This is an excellent product and we love the results! Just follow the instructions and vigorously shake the can before and during the process.

I use them regularly. Constant shaking and soaking in warm water or using a hair dryer/heat gun will keep can pressure up. Works fine for patches but just expect a heavy knockdown. Being an aerosol can, you don't have enough pressure plus the thin viscosity texture material won't allow a heavy build. Otherwise, a great solution for a diy fix. However, if you need to cover more than a few sf, it will get expensive lol

Wow, it performs great. Just like all the videos. Of course, you have to employ a bit of common sense, which I did not, at first. TEMPERATURE is important. It is 8 degrees F here today. The room I was spraying in is 65, the room it was stored in is 62. I test sprayed in a 55 F garage. It had a 3" stream. Once I googled troubleshooting, I learned about temperature. I warmed it in a pan of hot water, and WOW, it sprayed like in the videos. Plus, I observed that the time interval for the knock down needs to be extended in the cool surroundings.

So you washer/dryer is open like that??? Great job on the knockdown and paint, but you should have hired an architect for you floor plan.

ok so I just sprayed on the texture in the garage to a box maybe 3x3 in size that was just dry-walled and mudded. I sanded it down first and actually painted it and hated how flat it looked so tried to do this texture for the first time. It came at well initially and I did stop and let it sit then had the foam knife soaking in water and took it out to knock it down. So question number one was I supposed to wet and wipe the knife between strokes? Question two, I went back after I did the knock down and saw some uneven parts so I sprayed more texture and did the same procedure. Was that correct? Question three, why did I get some knife edge lines? Question four was the can supposed to spit and spray thicker clumps at the end? Lastly was the can only supposed to cover that much area because it seems empty now? Thx for the great video, it saved me. So why do people charge 200-300 for a small area of drywall such as what I described and should it include the sanding, texture, and painting or do drywall pro's only expect to do the drywall aspect for that price? Whats the industry standard regarding those issues?

How do you get it to work a second time??? Whoever used to this can before didn't clear the nozzle. I can't get it to do anything

My only question is why FLAT paint? I did my previous bathroom with this several years ago, and used one coat of good quality paint. One quart eggshell mixed with one quart satin. I don't have anything good to say about pudding texture, base and paint combo, and took back the only I ever bought. The texture spray itself is great. Once used it on a friend's redo of a wall that had had paper removed to easily make the boo-boos disappear, and walls much more interesting.

Is this okay to use while drunk? My dad says it is, but I want him to stop cause he's tripping on things.

great tips, here goes nothing...lol. I will let you know how it turns out. Another video said to put on primer after you texture but I guess that isnt necessary if you use a paint and primer in one.

Any advantages or disadvantages to letting the spray texture dry a little longer before knocking down?

This type cost more then all the others and sucks! It horrible for ceilings and only 1 out of every 2 cans seem to even marginally be able to spray in any position other then vertical. Get the regular 20oz homex can that costs $6 less per can

Wall was way to light for 2 coats, the correct paint application will do 1 coat!
