Is the trident the most op things with the mace rn? Since they patched the elytra + mace combo this is the next closest thing. Also can you offhand elytra and unequip it right before hitting someone?

It's really no different than crystals. Once people learn the counters and acquire them, it just becomes another part of the PVP meta. Like a bucket of lava.
