My facial, back, & chest acne, which I had for 20 years, went away completely when I cut out wheat 🤷‍♀️

Thank you Doctor for clarifying. And for taking the time to address videos of people attempting to make content as if they were health experts when they’re clearly not. ❤

Btw. That young lady probably just used the wrong word and meant intolerance towards some foods and intolerance varies in degrees that sometimes you feel like it’s an allergy. But she is right. Foods that you are intolerant too can cause acne and I have been through it.

Animal dairy really triggers my cystic acne, but it makes my cheeks and nose a little itchy too. No whelps or hives or swelling. If I’m taking prednisone for my IBD, I don’t get this reaction.

There are foods that can cause hormonal acne, for me it’s milk, not all dairy, just milk. Also sugar if I overindulge.

Okay but like why do I always get pimples after eating cashews or anything with cashews in it? Please help Dr. Dray 😭

It is inflammation. That is coming from something you are being exposed to. Not necessarily an allergy.

It is! You clean your skin, from within. Clean eating = clear skin

Dr.Gray, I do have a question for you; recently I did a peanut challenge where I ate several peanuts under the care of my allergist. I carry an epipen.

After about the 12th peanut and a couple of hours, I develops a large, quarter sized red itchy bump on my forehead - is that acne? I guess it’s not so then…just a bump? It looked like a reddened mosquito bite but without there usual edge a mosquito bite has, just a bump with no whitehead or anything.

I ended up needing epinephrine and allergy pills.

I also had itchy bumps under my clothes on my thigh after 1/8th of a peanut.

The forehead bump went away after a few days

True but I will say that when I drink Canadian dairy products I always start breaking out. I didn’t have that issue in Europe. I don’t know what they’re doing to the cows here but it definitely sends my hormones over the edge…

Its not an allergy but an intolerance to something unless its hormonal!!! Dairy and sugar can make acne worse in people who have cystic acne there is no harm in cutting them out for at least a month to test it but dairy really doesn't help those with acne it definitely makes it worse! Dairy is actually not tolerated by most people.

I get itchy, irritated skin on my face and neck. Then my skin gets very oily when this happens, and if I don't keep my skin washed, it breaks out.

I break out in acne only if I have tomatoes or potatoes. So something's happening. 😂

It doesn’t have to be allergies! Literally you can develop acne if your gut is not healthy or eating foods that screw with your hormones
