Portishead - Mysterons

From the 1997 concert in Roseland New York.
High Quality version is available.

Lyrics:

Inside your pretending
Crimes have been swept aside
Somewhere where they can forget

Divine upper reaches
Still holding on
This ocean will not be grasped
All for nothing

Did you really want
Did you really want
Did you really want
Did you really want

Refuse to surrender
Strung out until ripped apart
Who dares, dares to condemn
All for nothing

Did you really want
Did you really want
Did you really want
Did you really want

Love she's having a smoke while playing a tune. Old School.

The whole Bristol UK scene in the early 90's was awesome! Folks don't forget to check out Massive Attack and Tricky...

Obviously all Portishead songs are sung from the point of view of some anthropomorphized force of nature, but 3:18 onward is just pure cosmic power.

These guys still send a chill up my spine after nearly 20 years. Because they are so confident in what they are doing they don't feel the need to fill every space with a sound. These gaps leaves time for the audience to engage and feel the emotion of the music. Simply wonderful.

This song (in this version) is the highest point that Portishead has reach until now ..., i think along with Radiohead the best of the 90¨s ...Bravo.

Jesus. This is my first time hearing her live. I’ve listened to their music for most of my 24 years on this earth, but this is my first listen to them live.

Her voice is amazing and sounds better than it does on track. Fucking bravo. Insatiable talent.

One of the very best songs of all time.
