Session 3: Geometric Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Elastic Continuum

This lecture is delivered by Dr. Amar Nath Roy Chowdhary on the topic “Geometric Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Elastic Continuum”. This lecture gives an introduction to geometric nonlinearity and a brief discussion on geometric nonlinear finite element analysis.
Dr. Roy Chowdhary is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. Before Joining IIT Kanpur, He was serving as Assistant Professor in Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, India. Dr. Roy Chowdhary has completed his PhD from National University of Singapore and continued there as a Postdoctoral research fellow before joining IIT Ropar. His research interest includes Stability of Plate and Shell Structures, Mechanics and Design of Thin-walled Structures and Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Materials.
