Can we just adress the pH myth? It's impossible to make our body's pH more acidic or alkaline. If that happens, even for just some decimal values, we have something called acidosis or alkalosis and we are rushed to the hospital and may die. Leave your pH alone folks, no need to eat alkaline foods, or acidic foods for that matter ahah. I'm a dietetics student even in college there are some old professors who believe some myths like protein is bad for the kidneys and some things like that. Ignorance can be everywhere, even among my classmates! Sometimes I'm ignorant too ahah

Dietitian here! She definitely misspoke on the processed grain portions...processing of grains definitely removes the fiber and B vitamins (hence having to be enriched) but they're not completely absent. Great video with great points (and actual science). Thanks for fighting the good fight!

Please take a look at Alivia D'Andrea "healthy" eating vids. Based on what I've seen you react to before, she is a successful YouTuber that is potential misleading millions of people on what a healthy diet should be.

People are becoming obsessed with eating ONLY Whole Foods. Sure eating Whole food is good for you but in this day and age you can't just live of of that. Plus everything is processed now days. Plant based milk, olive oil processed, beans in cean processed. Dark chocolate, cacao, protein powder, supplements. List is really long. So hit you daily macro and micto nutrients don't go overboard with too much processed sugar and too much sodium and overall calories and you will be ok.

European here: Fortified with b vitamins as in 'added to the product later'? Because here in Western Europe vitamin b fortified foods are not really a common thing so you will indeed have little b in white bread, pasta etc.

Technically, you can consider any cooked food minimally processed as well since you're removing a lot of the water. The obsession with only eating whole food, and perpetuation of the myth that any inclusion of processed food at all leads to suboptimal health, is simply extremist, orthorexic, misinformed thinking. Sometimes processing foods can make them healthier, eg the polyphenols in olives actually becoming bioavailable in the pressed olive oil. Stating that a 100% "whole food" diet is automatically superior is simply not evidenced based.

I just wanna preface this with I have a degree in health and didn’t just google this lmao: calcium, unlike some other nutrients, has a threshold inside your body so when you get excess calcium from any source it doesn’t do anything extra beneficial, despite what some companies claim, and I think that’s where people get it twisted. The *excess* calcium is leached but that’s because your body has too much it doesn’t get rid of the calcium within the threshold which is the miscommunication. Now ya know.

Friendly reminder that black lives matter, saying this as a vegan, regardless of how much I’m apparently not suppose to care ✌️

Hmm, you did a lot of research for this video vs the last two dumpster fires.

it's extremely important to note here that not everybody can afford to take algae-derived omega 3 supplements. As a vegan myself, if I ever cannot afford algae oil and a doctor tells me that I need more omega-3s, I'll probably just take fish oil. and if I can't afford fish oil then i'd just eat fish. it's justified to consume animal products if it is necessary for your own health and wellbeing

I have removed my support from this channel on patreon and would appreciate you removing my name from your credit slide in future videos. Thank you for helping me on my vegan journey.

Really informative video and content, as usual! Not a fan of the title though, it comes accross as unnecessarily aggressive to me: factual inaccuracies makes one “brainwashed”? I don’t think that was really called for.

Just because you don’t like eating, dark leafy, green vegetables doesn’t mean that you should recommend a calcium tablet

i just love how she can get away with making 2 videos showing and spreading incredible amounts of ignorance towards blm and black activism in general, and then she just makes a new unrelated video and everything is back to normal. where is the accountability? she caused real hurt to many of her fans and the vegan community at large, refuses to apologize and even insults the people who critiqued her, and then continues to get the same # of views and supportive comments on her following videos.

so many people complain about "cancel culture, " yet here we have a person whose career is entirely unaffected after being called out for her harmful behavior and refusing to change or even apologize. and beyond that, there are even people in this comment section defending her and insulting the few people who won't or can't just "let it go." is this really the kind of community that we want to build?

3:15 Confused European here, is white bread not wheat bread? What is it made from if not wheat flour?

i think refined carbs can have a place in a vegan diet especially if your body is not used to digesting so much fiber which is plentiful in a whole foods vegan diet. too much fiber can cause digestive issues. swapping beans for mock meat is a good option to lower fiber but a cheaper alternative is swapping whole wheat for white.

Okay but are you seriously not going to address the multiple points of inaccuracy regarding BLM in your last video? I've always respected your methodical, researched approach to your channel and it was extremely jarring that you didn't handle BLM in the same way. People's, not just animal's, lives are a stake.
