Star Citizen - 10 Years, Still Missing - 100 Star Systems

100 Star Systems. This has been the holy grail for Star Citizen since it was originally promised all the way back in November of 2012. The first (and so far the only) star system to make it into the game was Stanton, this was upgraded to include landable worlds in 2017. Since then, the wait for new star systems continues, with the second ever star system - Pyro - scheduled for a potential 2023 release.

100 Star Systems then, feels like it will be a million years away. Yet, does that even matter – and are 100 star systems really needed?

Any support is massively appreciated!

My son was in middle school when I funded SC. He has finished college, got a degree, and is living on his own in Seattle for over a year now.

I'm 63 now I saw man take his first steps on the moon and I have more chance seeing the first steps on Mars than I do seeing Star Citizen released.

It's nice that they keep reaching for the stars, but I would be so hyped just to have a select all option for moving inventory or selling items!

For the question i think they should include the gameplay loops (jobs) they promised first. Then expand the systems. But there are at least 20+ system needed or system internal jump points (hidden) to do the exploration and jump point charting useful.

in the next 90 years all 100 Systems is finished Im starting to buy some ebook on how to be a Monk so that I can live for 200 years to prepare for Star Citizen launch

What I'd do is to release the game with 5-10 fully fleshed out star systems, in addition to 90 proc-gen ones that can later be fleshed out as the game evolves post release.

Judging by how development for the game has been going so far, it is probably going to take 100 years.

Even just 5 star systems I believe would be enough for star citizen to feel more complete(In an exploration sense)But all would have to be equally detailed to Stanton

Man said Squadron 42 like it's a thing that will actually happen. You've got to respect that level of optimism

Actual space programs like space x have made actual tangible progress in the amount of time cig has had.

Yes. It's what was promised. No more excuses and shiny distraction features to avoid the stretch goals.

Hell Obsidian Ant! Appreciate your videos.

I personally got a refund of £8975 back in 2016 right before they stopped refunding. I initially backed during the kickstarter but spent further monies up until about early 2015.
Something interesting is that, Sandi Gardener herself was doing refunds and email responses, I still have the one she sent me after trying to avoid refunding me for 27 days before finally agreeing to process it at day 28.

She sent me the most salt filled disgusting email ever, basically calling me an idiot for refunding and that it would be my fault if the game failed, a long side a bunch of other passive aggressive comments about using the consumer rights process in the UK to get my money back (I essentially submitted a small claims form and before it could go anywhere that's when they refunded me on day 28). She also said that if i wanted to buy back in my account (email) would be accessible but forum banned for 10 years so I cannot discuss my refund on their forums. Funnily enough my forum account is unbanned in 2026 ...and its still not out.

There is something interesting that i noticed about the october statement on companies house and that is specifically that CIG recognises star citizen in its current form as THE BUSINESS MODEL, They also at no point discuss it as an unfinished product or a product soon to market, which is extremely odd for the position in which its actually in, an unfinished incomplete state not ready for official release.

It seems that they are telling investors at this point...the current state of the game and model they have is the business going forward not what is expected from players. Which really does show there is unlikely to ever be a "complete" version because it would undermine the investments made by investment firms.

There are many lines within the multipage pdf that are cause for concern for players beyond that, though a youtube comment isnt really going to be able to truly detail the problems.

You don't buy SC for yourself you buy it for your great grandkids.. gotta pass something down.

"Here is your Great grandad's SC he hoped that one day you would be able to play it.. it goes on beta next week"

They still have ship packs ranging up to $40000. You can't see any of them until you get concierge status by spending a minimum of $1000 on the game.

Freelancer had 53 total systems and a lot of planets and space stations had lore on them that you could find by scanning.
It felt huge even with that amount.

I can't wait to play this with my grandkids.

Of course, It's what they promised the backers who put their hard earned money into this game's future, anything less than that would be a gigantic slap to the face.

The way I see it I would rather they 'release' the game with 10 systems of significant quality and every year release a new system (or more). This would then follow the ark of both game optimisation, storage availability, and graphical power being more accessible.

About three years ago I replied to someone saying that I don't think we'll ever get 100 systems and got told I was just another Roberts-hating denier and that now they have all the planet tech made the rest of the systems will be done very quickly.

The last time Roberts tried to make a game the Publisher had to intervene so hard he ended up in Hollywood and made a movie Uwe Boll would have been proud of.
