I still think some of the earliest flight models were the best ones, back when ships still felt agile.

I've often told my Org that the greatest thing about Star Citizen is the potential of Star Citizen.

I wish for PU, they would prioritize refining what we have now, plus maybe a bit more content within the Stanton system, and make it much more stable/playable. And continue their ambitious upgrades in the background. I’m just over the rickety slice of a demo we have had for so long. 10 years is such a long time to still have NPC’s with no dialogue, standing on tables, terrible stuttering etc.

Thanks Farrister for this relaxing tale that felt full circle.

Of dreams coupled with disappointment to finally emerge at an understanding of accepting the moment, while perhaps still dreaming of a future without holding one's breath on it.

Thank you Farrister! It has always been a pleasure watching your content. I started in 2019 with 3.9. 3.91 was the patch that got me hooked. I haven't looked back and certainly have invested a fair share. Being a DevOps guy, I actually enjoy the development part of the game and have just gotten used to the bugs and server performance glitches, which I think are most of the issues. I think we are on the verge of the biggest improvements in the game. Here's to another 10 years citizens! Cheers! 🍺🍻

Well I have two additional years of waiting on you, but am still watching that game development with interest. I too have had the ups and downs of SC development, and have spent way too much money on it buying stuff either in-game or tangible goods. I do have a "golden ticket" which really doesn't do much anymore and even is not mentioned anywhere except in my account that I am aware of. I am only part of the "Chairman's Club" due to the amount of real money I have spent. I do not regret any of it, just waiting for the time when the game comes out of Alpha. Until then I will continue to enjoy the updates to the PTU and the content that people like yourself put together for our entertainment. Farrister... THANK YOU for the time you have spent delivering such good content!

This is such an excellent perspective, I hope CIG can watch and appreciate this. Thank you for putting this together!

It's your videos that keep wanting me to jump back into my Nomad and fly around. I started 3 years ago, but haven't played for nearly a year now. I got tired of getting killed by other players while delivering boxes.

I too started in 2014. I saw the best space game ever being put together and I immediately wanted in. I remember walking around my ships in the hangar module (a feature that I now miss) looking longingly at the big hangar doors and wondering what adventures would await beyond.

I learned how to build PC's solely because of Star Citizen. I also spent too much money, but I have no regrets. It was to fund a dream project. If it fails, at least we tried to push what is possible. If it eventually succeeds, we have the best game ever.

Either way, it's been an epic journey for everyone involved. Thanks for all your amazing content.

Thanks for that exquisitely narrated trip down memory lane. It seems we have a very similar personal evolution throughout the game's development cycle. 😁

Nice to see your look back, wild to think It's been almost 12 years for me. I remember those good times back in AC when the flight model was good. It'd be nice if the look back video I made a number of years ago at this point wasn't basically accurate of my opinion on the game, but on the whole I think it still is. Hopefully one day we'll be able to properly try out a Javelin

I think they spend way too much time on stuff like clouds, water, and especially, fire.
Put that time into game mechanics and stability. Then we can worry about the minor dynamics. The game is already eye candy and I appreciate that.
I'm A pragmatic person so don't think I'm hating on the game. I just believe that priorities need to be addressed.

I wish they would commit to a release date for the MMO. Just some kind of a deadline, and if it ends up 5 years away, fine, but I wish they would go all-in on working towards a minimum viable product. They could build out from that post-release, as so many other live services have done. They've got a ton of great ideas, and these could lead to an incredible game, but after a decade of waiting I just want a good game with less bugs, more stability, and no progress wipes.

Promises only commit those who believe in them, but hope is always there. Despite many criticisms, SC is now moving forward exponentially compared to the past decade. The "server meshing" is a great step forward and it will still take some patience because there will be some more "bugs" to refine. It is likely that CIG also bet on the release of "Squadron 42" to support the continuity of development of SC and it is therefore natural to focus on this upcoming release which will attract more players in the Verse.

I think the game has made incredible strides. And I think that technology has done the very same— and to that front, the strides made in the last 5 years might actually help this game move along better than ever. That being said, I like the game where it’s at. Finding others that do is sort of a chore, but for my solo play where zen is the goal, I love it. The calm descent into the atmosphere of a planet, salvaging panels and ship remains— that’s my cup of tea. Like you said, to each their own. Can’t wait to see what’s next
