He does get too much credit. Struggled all the way to the final with poor tactics and yet again sits on his hands waiting too long to react. Fella on the call was spot on. We were playing with Joe hart, Gary Cahill, Chris Smalling, Daniel Sturridge, Jack Whilshere etc. Compare that with players Southgate has now. He's done a great job bringing unity and stability to the national team after a tough era but that's it

the only thing that has changed, is they now get a by to the quarter finals, thanks to the rankings giving them easy qaulifying and group games, nothing to do with southgate, they could have qualified without a manager for the last 3 tournaments. the country has been hypnotised by the ''southgate is the best manager we ever had'' P.R. mantra.

Spain had a better manager, better centre-backs, better full-backs, better midfielders, better wingers, better strikers, better subs, better kit, better national anthem, better WAGs, better tournament.
