very good! Did you learn this by ear, or, did you find a transcription? This violin part was originally composed (improvised) by Stephanie Grappelli.

Hi Jennifer! If this was your first attempt at swing, great job getting the "swing feel" and matching Grappelli's vibrato technique! As a swing violin player who tries to emulate Grappelli, I would like to offer some constructive criticism about a couple small moments during the piece.

- There is a C, A, C, A, pattern at 0:54-0:55. It sounds like you played it straight, where the Cs were on the 1 and As were on the 3. I hear the Cs on the 1, but I hear the As on the "and" of 2 -- so I hear the As a little bit before when you played them. I have heard this classic swing rhythmic pattern referred to as "the Charleston rhythm".
- Another thing I noticed is that there were some vibrato notes you played sort of long that I believe are cut short in the recording - I am thinking of the D note at 0:19, the C note at 0:23, and the C notes at 0:53.
- The last thing I wanted to mention is that the open G at 1:21 should be slurred from the preceding A because it is produced by Grappelli using the ghost note technique - so it would never be a separate bow.

Thank you for sharing your music, it's great stuff!

I talked to musicians in Paris, they call it "Jazz Manouche"
