Programs which benefit the underprivileged do require more funding.

Raising taxes would provide this.


Alternatively, the businesses in questions may be dying due to having such high taxes, their profitability is simply not enough to sustain them under such stress.

That said, we have to measure the cost.


How many would benefit from these programs, against how many would fall to the taxation.

Depending on the greater of the two, we can choose the best outcome.


Of course, both of these options are narrow minded and limited.

For starters, there are alternative ways to provide funding to those programs.

Next off, it is entirely valid that raising taxes can kill businesses in these communities. However, in the event of a tax raise, businesses can find ways to survive.


We live in a world entirely built around profit, money literally dictates who lives and who dies.

This society we live in is cutthroat, even when all the “players” are playing nice, the nature of the game still beats people down.

If taxes are going to be raised, and funding to programs aiding the underprivileged is going to be increased as a result, the businesses are going to have to find a way to survive.

Sink or swim. Turn a profit, or die.

This isn’t fair, but a solution which might satisfy both parties is available.

Raising taxes will inevitably lead to a quicker death for the businesses. Even if it helps those in need. If organizations were to approach those local businesses, present a united front, and as a community, raise proper funding for those organizations, it may be the solution to both parties problems.

No tax raise, and those in need will receive better services.

Or maybe state taxes could stay the same. So a 3rd choice, an antihero position. The state taxes are neither too high nor too low, so it should stay the same and the current funds should be reallocated differently to meet objectives

Which state taxes? Raising residential property taxes on high value homes, say 1.5 million and above, would provide more revenue without impacting black businesses that would be endangered by a tax hike. Ditto taxes on sales of cars valued at more than $75k.

I mean you can agree with both. We do need wealth fare programs to help those that fall into a rut. The issue is that people abuse it and dont strive to improve their lives and thus become entrapped by the system. Which in terms kills black businesses and overall any businesses. Also fuck no dont increase taxes, decrease what we pay politicians till they make the same as regular joe in his area. Its honestly be better to rework the system than throw more money when its broken.
